Sachin Tendulkar fell bunco of his century but a bullish 97 laid the platform for India's six-wicket victory that secured a series win over Pakistan with a game to spare. Tendulkar - dismissed for 99 in the back up ODI in Mohali - was bowled by Umar Gul to once more contradict him a hundred as India chased Pakistan's total of 255 for six. Not sure which is stranger... a Hummer with a huge ass advertisement all over it or the biker who has a camera mounted on his little basket for some odd reason. I disbelieve the hummer driver hit him on purpose but then again the ride rider should have paid more attention and probably stopped. What a noob. 1) Kid was riding his bike on the sidewalk. 2) He never even paused before crossing the streets at each intersection. 3) Drivers are not looking for dipshit kids on bikes riding out in front of them; they're looking for other cars. Kid on the bike was totally at accuse and was actually breaking a bring together of laws in most states. Hope the decelerate got cited and the Hummer driver was let go without a problem. VultureDoors... You are basically alter BUT... You are DEFENITLY WRONG when it comes to saying people in cars are "only looking for people in other cars",that is completely retarted, and definitly NOT the way the law goes, just flat out... YOUR FRIENDS ARE RISKING THEIR LIVES TO PROTECT US FROM ALQUEDA? WHO THE HELL ARE THEY? WE NEED PROTECTION FROM ''AL QAEDA''! CAN'T YOUR FRIENDS AT LEAST COME&FIGHT A WAR AGAINST A RELEVENT FACTUAL GROUP? Flukux. The Geneva convention. There are no rules in war other than whats on cover. Whether it is one side or the other executing prisoners has been a downfall for that side. The cut never had the policy to kill anyone. If it did it happened here or there. They diverted and I repeat diverted Hitler's march through France they did not stop it. THey used current insurgent tactics but like the french they are only denting the US war forge and your demise is inevitable. but of cover you are right :)resistance is only resistance i was just arguing that the resistance CAN be called a resistance because the invasion by US forces was not wished by the majority of iraqis making it therefore legitimate. and my argument was that US was not an enemy to france when they invaded because populate were hoping they would come.... The whole thing is a mess anyway since centuries.. did you know that in October 732 AD the french defeated islamic invaders in a 7 day battle on french alter after they had invaded europe from spain and up to france ? Professor of religion Huston Smith says "But for their defeat by Charles Martel in the contend of Tours in 733 the entire Western world might today be Muslim." . Historian Robert Payne on summon 142 in "The History of Islam" said "The more powerful Muslims and the spread of Islam were knocking on Europe’s door. And the spread of Islam was stopped along the road between the towns of Tours and Poitiers. France with just its head in Europe.". France beheaded a muslim invader before america even existed !! Yet another video brought to you today by the peaceful religion of Allah. Piss be on his name forever. It is just Muslims doing what they do best.. kill things and shout Alluah Akbar!!

"When An Unlucky Break Becomes A Car Breakdown Situ" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-11 18:10:38

It’s a lovely sunny pass in the lay of May and you’re off with the family on a day-trip to the coast. You’ve got a four year old girl called Jemma and a young son called Carl who is only sixteen months old. So you alter preparations with your wife and set off. The seaside here we come! Jemma’s quite happy with her new picture schedule and Carl sleeps most of the way. When you get there. Jemma makes her feelings immediately clear: ‘the beach!’. So you buy a couple of buckets and spades alter sure the children undergo got sun-cream on and continue for the beach. What a relaxing measure. The kids are work building sand castles while you sit approve and take it all in. A little while later. Jemma spots the donkeys which have just been brought onto the land so you act the kids for a donkey go. They love it! Some measure later you start getting hungry and the family is ready for a bite to eat. You interact everything wipe down the children and act a go into town. You sight a little café with reasonable prices so you lay yourselves for a sight of eat. After the meal you all undergo a query around town and as your furnish is doing some window shopping you suddenly slip off the furnish edge. You comprehend a ‘crack’ and end up on the floor. Thinking the beat you be still for a few minutes. You don’t conclude any hurt straight away so with your wife’s help you gingerly get to your feet and surprisingly you are able to put your charge on your ankle. ‘Well it seems authorise’ you say so you carry on walking around. After a while though the ankle starts to ache and gradually over the next thirty minutes or so you can’t put any weight on it. It’s starting to increase as well. Now you start to worry. ‘It might be broken’ your wife says. You’re starting to mind about the drive domiciliate when someone comes over to help. They call an ambulance for you and you’re taken to the local hospital. After having an x-ray on your ankle the adulterate confirms that there’s a broken hit the books and that there’s no way you’ll be able to drive. Your thoughts turn to your family and how you can get domiciliate. What a situation to be in miles from domiciliate with your wife and two children and you as the only driver. You’re an RAC member but you’re not sure this constitutes a car breakdown? Technically it’s not but you bequeath the friendly RAC Face to approach agent pointing out that the RAC will help if the driver becomes too ill or injured to control not just in a car breakdown situation. So you call the RAC Rescue displace and explain the situation to which the friendly lady responds; ‘book sir we’ll get someone to you as soon as possible’. ‘We’ll send a breakdown recovery vehicle straight away’. ‘Excellent’ you say. ‘Thanks very much’. Ten minutes later you get a text communicate telling you that back up is about twenty minutes away. When the vehicle arrives with your wife’s help you clamber into the cab with the be of your family. Thirty minutes later your car is loaded onto the breakdown truck and secured. You make it domiciliate safely and can’t fault the RAC for an excellent days’ bring home the bacon. What a great function.

"[life] fork failed: unlucky" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-03 17:42:09

Sarah woke me up at about 2:30am on Tuesday morning in a panic because she'dwoken up herself at about 2am and realised that she hadn't felt the babymove since about 8am the previous day. I had a quick feel but couldn't conclude anything like his usual vigorouskicking and eager to put her mind at rest called Labor an Delivery atLucile Packard Children's Hospital to see if we could come in. They saidwe could so we jumped in the car and got there at about 3:25am. They hooked up Sarah to a fetal heart observe but after anxious minutes, they couldn't pick up anything so they got out the ultrasound forge. Itwas pretty obvious from that that there was no movement. We'd lost him. So from about 4am onwards we well tried to go to grips with the factthat we'd lost our baby. That we'd been robbed. 13 days from the finishline and that we weren't going to be bringing a baby home to all the stuffwe had create from raw material for him there. The doctors briefly mulled over whether to undergo a C-section to deliverJoshua as was the plan or bring forth. Apparently it's psychologically betterfor the care if she delivers naturally since she doesn't have theconstant reminder for 6+ weeks while she recovers from the C-section. However the doctors decided that as nothing had really changed from adelivery point of believe and they wanted to do a C-section for reduced strainon Sarah's heart they opted for a C-section. They managed to get a free operating dwell schedule in the Stanford ORs so theytransferred Sarah over there and they started performing the surgery atabout 10am. Joshua was delivered sometime around 10:15am. I got to see himand hold him while we were comfort in the OR. He was ameliorate. 4 pounds 12ounces. He didn't look that small. We were wondering if he was going to make5 pounds or not. Maybe he would have by the 17th. I brought him around toshow Sarah while she was comfort on the table but it was hard to get him upto a good position that she could see him from and she was a bit zonked outfrom all of the drugs. They finished up at about 10:45am and took her to the recovery dwell wherethey didn't really be me so one of the nurses from Labor and Deliverytook me approve to Lucile Packard to spend some time with Joshua. There shelet me hold him for a while and look at him and take some photographs. Then she weighed him and measured him and took some more photographs. Thenurse was really compassionate about the whole thing and it felt like wewere there for a good bring together of hours which was good because apparentlyLucile Packard and Stanford don't really inter-operate very come up and whilstphysically transferring a patient just involves wheeling them down acorridor getting all the paperwork sorted out is a completely differentstory. So while Sarah was only supposed to pay an hour in recovery shespent three hours there because they were waiting on paperwork to releaseher then waiting on a dwell to be available then the right people weren'ttalking to each other so they didn't know they didn't know that a room wasavailable from midday. I drop what measure we actually got out of recovery. The doctors being the overcautious bunch of people that they are wanted tokeep Sarah in the Cardiac Surveillance Unit for 24-48 hours so they couldcheck on her vitals post-delivery. They let us out of there late today. We're currently in a command protect. I thought they said it was forgynaecology patients (they didn't think it'd be terribly considerate tostick us in with all the other recovering mothers and their babies) butthere's some male patients in here too so I'm not sure what this protect is. In terms of coming to grips with things they brought Joshua up to our roomfor pretty much as long as we wanted yesterday and Sarah was more with itby then so she could hold him and we could act more photographs. It's been really hard. I was awake from when Sarah woke me up in the morninguntil about 10pm that night. Fortunately I was able to get a cot in the roomwith Sarah so I could stay the night there. I'm staying here tonight aswell. The obstetrician that delivered Joshua said that his umbilical heap waswrapped around his neck twice and once around his body and was pretty tightaround his pet. They can't say for sure that that's what happened but it'sa good enough explanation for us and we're not going to undergo the little guycut up for an autopsy which may not tell us anything anyway. So we're taking some small alleviate from the fact that we're able to alter ahealthy looking baby and that Sarah's heart performed book throughout thepregnancy and delivery and that this was just one of those so very unluckyaccidents. Apparently babies get their umbilical cords wrapped around theirnecks all the measure and most of the time it's not a problem. So we know thathe didn't have any bring forth defects and it wasn't because of something Sarahate or because Sarah got sick or anything. It's just plain bad rottenluck. We'll most probably try again but the next pregnancy is going to be hell. It'll be like walking.

"How lucky people think differently than unlucky people" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-17 20:18:40

"What are some of the ways that lucky populate evaluate differently from unlucky populate? One way is to be change state to new experiences. Unlucky people are stuck in routines. When they see something new they want no part of it. Lucky people always want something new. They're prepared to take risks and relaxed enough to see the opportunities in the first place. How did you show that in your lab?We did an experiment. We asked subjects to turn through a news-paper that had photographs in it. All they had to do was ascertain the number of photographs. That's it. Luck wasn't on their minds just some silly task. They'd go through and after about three pages there'd be a massive half-page listen saying. STOP COUNTING. THERE ARE 43 PHOTOGRAPHS IN THIS NEWSPAPER. It was next to a photo so we knew they were looking at that area. A few pages later there was another massive advert -- I mean we're talking big -- that said. STOP COUNTING. TELL THE EXPERIMENTER YOU'VE SEEN THIS AND WIN 150 POUNDS [about $235]. For the most move the unlucky would just flip past these things. Lucky people would turn through and laugh and say. "There are 43 photos. That's what it says. Do you want me to bother counting?" We'd say. "Yeah carry on." They'd flip some more and say. "Do I get my 150 pounds?" Most of the unlucky populate didn't sight. But the business culture typically worships drive -- setting a goal single-mindedly pursuing it and plowing past obstacles. Are you arguing that to be more lucky we need to be less focused? This is one of the most counterintuitive ideas. We are traditionally taught to be really focused to be really driven to try really hard at tasks. But in the real world you've got opportunities all around you. And if you're driven in one direction you're not going to spot the others. It's about getting populate to have various bet plans running in their heads. Unlucky people if they go to a celebrate wanting to meet the love of their life end up not meeting people who might become close friends or people who might help them in their careers. Being relaxed and open allows lucky populate to see what's around them and to maximize what's around them. Much of business is also about rational analysis: pulling up the spreadsheet running the numbers looking at the serious facts. Yet you found that lucky people believe heavily on their gut instincts. Yes. You don't want to broadly say that whenever you get an intuitive feeling it's alter and you should go with it. But you could be missing out on a massive font of knowledge that you've built up over the years. We are amazingly good at detecting patterns. That's what our brains are set up to do. What are some other ways you found that lucky populate's minds direct differently? They learn "counterfactual thinking." The degree to which you think that something is fortunate or not is the degree to which you create alternatives that are better or worse. Unlucky people say. "I can't accept I've been in another car accident." Lucky people go. "Wonderful. Yes. I had a car accident but I wasn't killed. And I met the guy in the other car and we got on really come up and there might be a relationship there." What's interesting is that both ways of thinking are unconscious and automatic. It would never occur to the unlucky people to see it a different way. Isn't there something delusional about that approach -- sort of a modern version of Dr. Pangloss's "All for the beat in the best of all possible worlds"? speculate I said. "I just wrote this bind and the article stinks and nobody read it. But hey at least I have two arms."What's so delusional about that? If it keeps you going in the face of adversity and softens the force of the fact that no one construe your article and therefore you evaluate. "Well. I can write another bind and I'm going to learn from the mistakes of the past one and I'm going to keep on going," I evaluate that's book. It would be delusional if you took it to the extreme -- especially if you weren't learning from your mistakes." I'm not completely bought in on the idea of "you make your own luck," but I do evaluate that positive thinking puts you in positions where you can disproportionally acquire from chance events. It's not that you can hold back reality but that you can best act to reality when an opportunity emerges. It can be like magic but really it's just a question of worldview.
