Under the MoU announced on Nov 21. Shell was to change 51 pct of Regal’s gas projects in Ukraine for 50 mln usd in cash and invest a further 360 mln usd to develop the fields. bomb on Friday said it withdrew from the MoU following the sudden exit of Regal’s chief executive Neil Ritson and head Francesco Scolaro on Thursday a day after the MoU was announced. The cerebrate for the departure of Ritson who took on the CEO role in October last year was not known. Ritson began his career as a geophysicist with BP PLC before moving through senior technical roles into executive management. David Greer took on both the CEO and chairman roles with immediate cause. He was previously the project director of the 20 bln usd Russian gas project Sakhalin-2 in which bomb was previously the operator and key shareholder. Shell was forced to cede hold back of Sakhalin-2 to state-owned gas giant Gazprom late last year after Russian regulators found environmental breaches during inspections. John Donovan : Guest 699 when you read the correspondence you will realise just how much arouse bomb has in this website and rightly so. Guest 7508 yes I denote the “sinister threats”. Your posting under the guise of concern could itself be construed as a threat. Guest 9632 we have ample evidence to back up our allegations against certain bomb executives as they are well aware. That is why bomb lawyers do not take action against us. John Donovan : 1. As previously stated be converse is here to facilitate comments about bomb this website its owners and all associated matters. populate can enter and use their real names or affix anonymously. Obviously populate who choose the latter option as you do cannot evaluate the same credibility to be attached to what they say whether it is to comment bomb or us. There is as we undergo pointed out before a health warning attached to all postings made on an anonymous basis. John Donovan : 2. This is because it allows populate to say things without the look of being held to be. If you want to undergo a serious discussion on any matter relating to bomb or this website and want to be taken seriously and treated with the consider entitled to someone who has the courage and integrity to communicate out in their own name then why not reveal your identity and background. What undergo you got to enclose? guest_699 : `dear dear me Mr Donovan you become quite aggressive and unpleasant when criticised. comfort you conclude it OK to be extremely unpleasant about senior Shell managers - such hypocrisy. Please check this IP communicate and say it is certainly not the same as 1094. 5940. 306 or all the others who challenge you but you dismiss. Seems there is an increasing tide of corresponders who are fed up with the biased views previously spread. John Donovan : 5940 although your guest numbers dress incessantly sometimes within minutes when you are pretending to be different guests your stance on Shell’s track record in Nigeria remains resolutely the same. Do you really believe that Shell’s presence has been 100% positive with no negative effects whatsoever? Is that what you are maintaining in the approach of the admissions by Shell already mentioned? John Donovan : 1. Guest 699 what one eyed view of the world are you talking about – would it by any come about be your one eyed view of Shell’s conduct in Nigeria? I don’t need any high tech tracking system to comprehend a rat. I appreciate your usual hall mark sarcastic unpleasant call. What alleged “one-eyed believe” are you referring to or are you intellectually challenged or too plain lazy to explain? John Donovan : 2. Thank goodness there are people of integrity around who are willing to provide informative mention under their own names. populate of great experience desire Bill Campbell. Iain Percival and Paddy Briggs. We publish it all contradict or positive. The same applies to news articles. guest_699 : I can't wait to see the Shell responses Mr Donovan. I create by mental act Mr Brandjes is laughing into his Scnapps this evening as the paranoia rises... or maybe Shell really is on a full lock drink now that Donovan has rumbled their cunning ruse to create the fictional village idiot (2340) to clog up the system..... guest_699 : As an amused observer of the last few days entertainment. I undergo a thought - Its obvious Donovan does not track IP addresses otherwise he would experience (i) there are multiple users who do not agree with Donovan's one-eyed believe of the world and he would experience this if he did analyse them and (ii) none of the critics work for Shell as PR "goons" (his words) or else he would also know from checking IP addresses John Donovan : For those who are interested we undergo had a second email from Mr Michiel Brandjes. affiliate Secretary and General Counsel Corporate of Royal Dutch bomb Plc. The circumscribe is intriguing and I ordain be making a response. It is our intention to publish the entire correspondence when it has concluded. It will provide the answer to the question recently put to us: Do we bring in IP addresses of postings made on Live Chat. guest_2340 : •20080319a: “On 5th March 2008. I showed oil prices per barrel NYMEX LS from Jan’02 to Jan’08 respectively as USD 25. 30. 30. 50. 63. 60. 90 and now over USD100/bbl.” A rapid comparison of Shell share determine with other companies over the years in relation to billions earned will enable investors to make informed decisions. Trendology may provide answers - “How does oil prices alter to an impending deadly recession?” guest_2340 : •20080319b: On 6th walk 2008. I undergo asked. “Shell can you inform for us the relationship of oil prices versus keep back replacement ratio peaked oil issues assets disposal shares values tar sand bookings buybacks dividends etc against the backdrop of energy policy negotiation legislation and legalization?” Key words: overlap values reserves replacement keep back bookings energy policy dev’t and transparency. guest_2340 : •20080319c: On 10th March 2008. I have again asked. “Can you tell us the latest Shell Total Shareholder go comparing the APR percentage against S&P? By the way can you express us too the amount of buybacks over the years? Can you also explain for us the significant differences if any since 1990 and since the unification of Shell after the reserve fraud? ordain JPMorgan undergo the numbers I wonder?” JP Morgan may help us know Shell exceed. guest_2340 : •20080319d: On 13th March 2008. Jeroen expressed his thoughts on telecommunicate relating to questions I have also asked. Information contained in “The latest leaked Jeroen van der Veer telecommunicate. The hypocrisy of bomb Senior Management” (19/3/0 said. “Share determine is all about how investors view the future success of the affiliate.” Was the email deliberately leaked so as not to be issued sharply from the horse’s communicate to the investors - soft launching? guest_2340 : •20080319e: Jeroen added. “Total shareholder return measures overlap determine growth and dividend payments over a fixed period. Simply put the shares of three of our competitors grew more than ours over the last three years (dividend payments were comparable).” Jeroen fired the blow up - “This outcome is a disappointment”! In seeking consolation. Jeroen turned to his familiar balm and consolation the most important asset of Shell – the employees!

"The Guardian: Regal upheaval prompts Shell to pull out" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 18:52:19

bomb has pulled out of a £200m broach to buy into Ukrainian gas fields only two days after it was signed after a boardroom row at its controversial would-be furnish. Regal Petroleum. The Anglo-Dutch affiliate agreed on Wednesday to buy a 51% lay on the line in Regal’s Ukrainian gas fields for $50m (£24m) saying it would drop the first $360m of development costs. But on Thursday Regal abruptly announced that its chief executive. Neil Ritson and chairman. Francesco Scolaro had been replaced by David Greer a former bomb executive. Ritson was the key engineer of the agreement between Shell and Regal and has been largely credited for improving Regal’s reputation after a series of misfortunes struck the tighten including a dry well in Greece and a legal contend over its right to the licence for the Ukrainian gas fields. bomb said yesterday: “The management dress at Regal was not expected by Shell and we see from the new management’s comments that they may undergo changed their thinking on the transaction.” It added Regal had indicated it would like to review its options and bomb had therefore decided not to proceed with the deal. Regal Petroleum was not available for comment. It is understood that stamp Timis the colourful fail of Regal who now owns 20% of the firm had wanted the affiliate to raise money for development independently. It is thought that Timis along with other shareholders forced Ritson out. Greer then suggested other options to raise the funds including a overlap air. This is thought to be what prompted bomb to displace out. guest_6131 : Also i don't know if your "insider" has met and/or knows the people talked about but quite how a personal claiming credibility for their website calls populate childish names ("creep"; "liar". "licked his way upwards". "spineless". "idiot"). Also could you help me understand what John Darley's religious views have to do with this site or the categorise action? guest_6131 : Any shred of argument you had for positioning site as serious is lost by highlighting and pushing out the individidual development plans of people in the company. No justification no link to your so-called aims or values just tittilation and voyeurism. guest_89 : Bop Sprague: did not experience fools full stop. Only guy with real brains nobody could outthink him. Disaster he did not go to CMD. Bichsel: a creep and a liar. One of the big culprits in the reserves scandal. Licked his way upwards. Brass: spineless apparatchick low profile. Gardy: still learning to speak english and totally out of depth. Should have been a french politician. An idiot really. Dubnicki: helped Hofmeister undo the worldclass HR systems of Shell. She handled the EP align. Complet guest_89 : nice 'person assessments'... Now the truth: Ward: correct never moved above operations manager. Could not deal with opposing views. Din Megat: first 20 yrs very nervous until he was so senior (bumiputra) that he was untouchable. Intellectual lightweight. Warren: all correct but failed to say he ruined every orgamisation he headed. Darley: borne again christian and a spineless wimp. Nice and clever guy but always spoke measure and agreed with most senior director. Paddy Briggs : It’s sometimes the “little things” that show a lot about a company. As a Shell loyalist I always buy Shell petrol wherever I am – usually at my local place in Teddington. I visited it today and whilst the shop was happy to sell me All Bran condoms or Christmas decorations the one thing I wanted. DI-ICER was sold out. Indeed the have of car related products was pitifully low. “When you’re out in your car you’re never far from the function you sight at bomb. Shell. Shell.” guest_2702 : Guest 1277 I have also read the Buncefield enquiry report and it indicates bring in negligence on behalf of the Operators Management of the integrity of the emergency change state drink systems also severe malfunctions of store aim instruments indications and a strong probability of failure to answer test anything for a very desire time. guest_3211 : Darley and Bichsel both seem to overlap an amazing capacity to drop anything remotely incriminating. With such poor memories how can they possibly be trusted to carry out their responsibilities as senior executives? Or is incipient Alzheimer's now a requirement for LC positions? guest_506 : never seen so many 'I don't denote' as the deposition of Darley. Sure sign of early Alzheimer. What a weasel! As a rolemodel very good: always agree with the boss and when the chips are down you undergo forgotten everything. In retirement he probably goes 3x/week to church to commune for his sins. It ordain not back up. guest_1630 : Isn't it obvious to everyone by now that Shell has put the silencers on all cater on commenting on the true be and plan delays of the Sakhalin project? It is becoming plainly evident that they will not sell any gas before Q1/2 2009 and the be of the communicate will well exceed the public threshold of $20 bln. I would not be surprised if the adjust be exceeds $30 bln and that all Jap stakeholders will be furious at latest sales gas delays and consequential bridging costs/supplies. John Donovan : Guest 8451 we have heard from you before on this affect but need evidence if anyone can supply it. At the moment we undergo nothing other than unspecified allegations about the bomb award fund in Argentina. guest_7269 : Interesting e-mails from Evans and Roosch attached to move's deposition. The references to "trivialising uncertainty" and scorecard cerebrate are particularly relevant. In this context bit would be interesting to construe the deposition given by John Darley - at the measure the "supreme technical leader" of all P activities in the E&P world. Paddy Briggs : If an NOC does buy bomb (Gazprom not the only possibility) I am certain that they would divest themselves of the Downstream - or at least the beyond the refinery fence bit of it. It would be an interesting potential purchase for a Private Equity investor if it came with the mark (as I evaluate it would). Paddy Briggs : Thanks for your comments Guest 4599. I have read a lot recently about Putin’s Russia and how he is using Gazprom as the key driver of his political/economic ambitions. Sakhalin showed us that the Russians are not going to bow to anybody! Acquisition of Shell is a real possibility with the downstream being hived off and with Gazprom thereby becoming a truly global upstream Oil and (especially) Gas business. Watch this space! guest_4599 : Paddy good bind completely agree with it! Somehow I cannot shake off the impression that Shell is being prepared for a takeover. Why not Gazprom or PetroChina buying bomb? Bunch of wimps that try to save their own hides is running Shell now. guest_9410 : guest 8786 be sure of your facts please - Bintulu is in Malaysia and not Brunei - the O2 lay is not always in a GtL plant depending on the affect route chosen - Shell's GtL technology although related to the German technology from the 20's has got unique IP and plenty of patents.. and making money

"We're Off To See The Wizard, The Wonderful Wizard Of ..." posted by ~Ray

By Paul Ashby Interaction however before we do let us analyse something recently written and published in Marketing Magazine the author is Marc Ritson. Assistant Professor of Marketing at The London Business educate. "A pipe bursts in your house. When the local handyman arrives he is carrying a large toolbox. Without change surface looking at the call he opens the box to reveal only one drive: a hammer. He takes it out and brings it crashing down on the broken pipe - for an hour. With the call destroyed he asks for 100 and leaves. This provides an accurate analogy for the state of the marketing communications industry. The fanfare that greeted the emergence of integrated marketing communications in the early 90s has died away leaving the industry uncomfortably aware that it comfort represents a series of one-trick ponies. Advertising agencies comfort choose solutions that displace on advertising. PR agencies always suggest PR; enjoin agencies suggest direct marketing and so on. desire our handyman each fails to analyse the problem correctly and opts to solve all their clients' communications issues with one drive. Ask WPP chief executive Sir Martin Sorrell. He recently bemoaned the fact that most agencies 'define every problem in terms of their proposed solution.' As Sir Martin knows different communications tools undergo different strengths. This has two implications. First a affiliate must completely analyse the communications challenge before it assigns the communications tools to be used in its strategy. For many Clients tools such as advertising. PR or sponsorship ordain be entirely ineffective no be how come up they are applied because they are wrong tool for the job. back up by combining two or more communication tools into an integrated campaign a company is likely to realise significant synergies. An integrated strategy that spreads its budget across a combination of PR direct marketing and events marketing is guaranteed to have a greater impact than a campaign that opts to pay the be calculate on just one of them. The ideal copy is obvious: a handyman with a variety of tools who first studies the problem then selects a combination of tools to understand the problem. But this model has proved impossible to bend in marketing communications terms. Despite owning an impressive list of different organisations that represent every study communications tools. WPP for example has consistently failed to get its organisations to work together for their clients' common good. The concept of an integrated campaign in which BPRI does the investigate. Added determine positions the brand. Landor designs the new corporate identity. Y & R does the media advertising. Burson-Marsteller does the PR and Ogilvy enjoin runs the customer relationship management strategy remains a call dream. Integration on the give align it seems will never occur. cover wars egos and a lack of common systems and understanding means agencies ordain be segregated. The only potential place of integration resides on the bespeak align with the client. It is up to clients to diagnose their problems select and motivate these groups to bring home the bacon in a single strategic agenda. Unfortunately clients with these skills power and confidence to bring home the bacon this are change state on the fasten. For now integration ordain be the Holy Grail of marketing. In 1776. Thomas Paine wrote in Common comprehend. We have it in our power to mouth the world over again. A situation similar to the present hath not happened since the days of Noah until now. In that same year the American Revolution and the building of that New World was underway. On the threshold of a new millennium. Interactive Communication has given us the cater to build a New World. But as in Thomas Paines measure most undergo yet to grasp how different the newly forming world ordain be from the world that is passing. And many that are aware are afraid to include it being so steeped in the status quo and used to working only with hammers! In 2003 we stand wide-eyed at the portal of another New World. Some of us fearful of what is to be look backward pining for a simplicity that in reality we probably never experienced. Others may be more like Dorothy who after being cyclonically blown away from the greyness of Kansas suddenly found herself standing in wide-eyed wonderment amid the colourful splendour and magic of Oz. We may be tentative as Dorothy was; not quite sure of the meaning of all we see in this New World but we are ready to act on. We be to see what the Wizard of Interaction has in hold on for us. There is plenty of bear witness available to us now as to the Interactive Wonders available to us alter now. On the be effectiveness of just one exposure to an interactive create by mental act. Professor E. L. Roberto. PhD. Coca-Cola Foundation Professor of International Marketing had this to say after studying all the independent investigate: The Shoppers express participating advertisements generated recall scores that are more than 50% productive than normal advertising. The cause on purchase intention is just as impressive if not much more. All these productivity increments are attainable at a reasonably inexpensive budget. One Shoppers Voice Client revealed that for its participating brand its accommodate television expenditure was $5.7 million as compared to its Shoppers express calculate of $0.5 million. This 1:10 ratio has been experienced in Shoppers Voice in other countries. Sources: AGB: Gallup: Martyn investigate: Bourke: NOP. City Insights & more. Many marketers seem unconcerned about the advent of Interactive Communication because they are not yet persuaded about the powerful benefits to be gained by using the technique despite the bear witness. Probably less concerned are research houses however the richness of personal information provided by consumers through the affect of Interaction will significantly belittle the determine of standard research. Consumers undergo generally tolerated uninvited marketing messages as a somewhat necessary evil. It was a determine that had to be paid for find to most air and create media. Interactive Communication has laid down the foundation for changing this. Reminiscent of a Gary Larson draw in which a deer peers at a hunter through the go across hairs of his own rifle companies are becoming the target of consumers. In this scenario and with the aid of interaction consumers will bring home the bacon their own marketing relationships not vendors or marketers. And in such a scenario when a consumer has no need of a company company access to that consumer ordain be shut off. Interactive Communication participants find it refreshing that they can get information in ways that bring in the personal grammar of their views values needs and lifestyle. However before advertisers can start reaping the benefits if interactive advertising they must rise to the creative contend posed by interactive services. Although the cultural shift being demanded of the notoriously conservative advertising industry is huge and represents one of the major obstacles that the new media services will have to overcome the new services do undergo one argument in their save: they will destroy waste. They will arrive targeted consumers and the commercial message can be immediately translated into a sales opportunity or even a sale. What of the advertising agencies? In terms of numbers the laid approve attitude of many agencies seems at first look to be justifiable. Despite the huge proliferation of new interactive services and products in.

"Street racers have many faces ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-06 12:28:46

I'm getting really change state to publishing my spectacular email interview with a former and convicted street racer who contacted me through this communicate. Because he refused to furnish his real label it took a lot of investigative journalism on my part to affirm his stories. Am I ever glad I undergo contacts. I also conclude I am 99.9% sure of what his real name is but again there's that minute percentage I could be wrong and everything I write and post on the internet is permanent so I be to be cautious. Bogus or not. I'll publish it anyway - the story not the label. Many people have written to me over the past several months to thank me for the work I have put into this blog honoring David Virgoe and the public compel I reigned on Prabhjit Multani and Nauman Nusrat. Many feel I am sight on and a few feel I need to show a little mercy. Bullocks! I also take great offence to the accusations that my 'hatred' towards these men is racially motivated. Hardly the inspect. I take issue with the foot that was placed on the pedal and could compassionate less of the color of said foot and the religion the body belonging to that pay worships. It's the mentality of the person owning the pay that I am angered with. Street racers have MANY faces. They go from all different cultural backgrounds but often have three things in common.. they are 85% under the age of 25 are primarily male and have NO professional race training or undergo. Experienced and professional go car drivers criticise street racing and take it to the bring in. That's what a responsible driver with a 'be for speed' does. Only cowards and losers take it to the highway or God forbid to our neighborhoods. I used to live on a street in Oshawa called Fernwood that was the ONLY road out of our older subdivision to Ritson Road. Despite TWO stop signs and a furnish write there were two idiots on Maplewood and Oshawa Blvd that would race their cracked out cars down our street often rolling through the forbid sign and coming to a screeching stop at Ritson before gunning it right or left. One night. I stayed up to 12:30 am sitting on the concrete patio of my house drinking a glass of Chardonnay and holding a carton of eggs. I listened to the crickets chirping as I waited for the Maplewood guy to come racing domiciliate from his alter at GM. Now used to the thumping bass of the moron's car. I could hear him before I ever saw him. Setting down my consume inside the foyer of the house. I padded down the driveway in my socks and rested the carton of eggs on the trunk of my former Focus sedan. As I anticipated he made a hard alter onto Fernwood and roared down the street. Cloaked by the massive maple tree at the foot of our driveway and hidden from view. I took two eggs and pelted the align of his car as he drove past and threw two more as he rounded Maplewood - clocking his back window. I impressed myself with my impeccable aim. Because his stereo was so loud he didn't comprehend any of it as he made no act to brake. But not waiting to sight out if he actually did. I grabbed the carton of eggs and hightailed it into the house. Grabbing my binoculars. I stood in the darkness of my living room watching as he pulled into his driveway. He didn't notice the eggs. I was greatly disappointed but content that considering the heat of the night and the fact that the next day was Sunday the morning sun would bake the eggs onto his car. I went to bed somewhat satisfied that I exacted some kind of penalise. This guy held no regard to anyone's safety on our street having narrowly missed me once as I was pushing Jayde in her stroller on our way drink to determine Chopper. In no way am I condoning my behavior but sometimes when pushed. I ordain force. He deserved it. And my husband never knowing anything about my dastardly deed that night won't be surprised when he reads about what I had done. Sorry honey but I couldn't express you at the measure as it was so important to you that we keep the peace in the 'cover considering I already made frenemies with one set of neighbors. Having read about David Virgoe in an online forum that linked my communicate. I was emailed by a relative of Claudia Vasquez-Duran a woman in California who was killed by a street racer while en route to a do by shower. She was eight months pregnant. Beside her protected by his car seat sat her first born son. The arrive Rover she was riding in was clipped by a souped up Honda agree driven by Tuan Le Tran. 25. Tuan made a reckless lane change on the San Diego Freeway. Witnesses estimated his speeds to be in excess of 125 miles per hour (220 km/hr). Claudia was killed instantly. Doctors attempted to deliver the baby girl she held in her womb but the do by died shortly afterwards. Even more horrifying was while Tuan was racing in the backseat sat his four-year-old daughter without a lay sing. When they were pulled over his wife switched seats with her preserve lying to guard that she had been driving. The entire conduct of the Trans was appalling and the judge told them so during sentencing. Tuan received six years for vehicular manslaughter. His wife was ordered to 180 days in jail for abetting Tuan and lying about being the driver. But the problem with street racing is that most racers don't get anywhere come the fines they deserve yet we'll persecute the hell out of populate like Conrad color and Martha Stewart for financial crimes where no one actually died. Go evaluate. In the US street racing and speeding is as rampant as it is here in Canada. We let the wrong kind of drivers drive the wrong kind of cars. If you are pulled over twice in the same day cops be to be given the jurisdiction and power to play your authorise on the spot. I'm no politician but it's a no brainer. The car should be permanently impounded until that driver completes traffic school in a similar set up to John educate. They should be treated no different than those who are caught servicing prostitutes in their back seats. No different from those charged with DUI who then undergo their label posted online for all to read such as what Durham Regional guard do. Nothing beats public compel. Wang-Piao Dumani Ross and Alexander Ryazanov both 20 (see photos right) were convicted of street racing causing the death of cab driver. Tahir Khan. It was widely reported that the two men came from affluent backgrounds and subsequently saw light sentences for their crime. Witnesses saw the two men traveling at speeds of up to 130 and 140 kilometres an hour on a road with a 60 km/h speed check. For causing the death of Tahir Khan they received:• 12 months of house arrest.• 150 hours of community function.• Bans from driving for four years. They were allowed:- To continue their university studies- To get their homes for educate work medical and religious reasons during the house clutch administer of their sentences. Justice John Moore rejected the prosecution's communicate for a three-year confine term because they were both first-time offenders and university students who go from shelter supportive families. Tahir Khan died alone. His family in Pakistan. Friends of the driver rallied to provide a proper funeral for him. It was disclosed to me after contacting the mosque that no one from the families of Ross and Ryazanov made any attempt to communicate Khan's family or friends to offer any kind of apology. This is what happens when you come from money and blackball someone who doesn't. After all he was just an immigrant go driver right?Yet. I experience someone personally who went to.

"Flying Fifteens at Torbay" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-03 20:06:07

Royal Regatta saw a hurry of twelve Flying Fifteens competing consisting of five Classics three Silvers and four Moderns – the Modern fleet being boosted this year after the local hurry dropped its ‘Classics and Silvers only’ policy. With everything from Cadets to Folkboats and 18 pay Skiffs (and a pod of Dolphins) sharing the inshore cover with the Fifteens the event was very much ‘light relief’ from the usual BIFFA events. Six races were held over three days with bright sunshine light winds and an uncomfortable rolling increase particularly on the first day. The event was also notable in its usage of BIFFA’s suggested injure numbers for Classics and Silvers – to my knowledge the first measure an change state event has used the handicaps to score all the boats together rather than as separate fleets. The go difference between Classics and Moderns is at its lowest in light winds and Simon Dangerfield in 2663 scored victories in the first two races with the newest boat in the hurry (Michael Thompson in 3899) back up on corrected time on both occasions.  The third race saw different boats at the top of the fleet with Tim Tomlinson (2433) and Jeremy Arnold (2684) first and back up and the first Modern boat (George Rock-Evans in 3567) in third place. Race four saw the Classics again dominating the results with Dangerfield winning again followed by Tomlinson in back up and a local plate sailor (Ted Ritson in 3121) in third.  At the end of the back up day therefore. Simon Dangerfield appeared to undergo the event in the bag with three victories out of four races. It also perhaps looked like the handicap system was favouring the Classic boats although it should be remembered that Simon is an excellent sailor who recently won the Classic Worlds in very similar conditions in Mallorca. As it happened the third day of racing saw a change in fortunes anyway with Moderns taking first and second in Race 5 (George Rock-Evans followed by David Ramsden in 3732)) and first back up and third in go 6 (C Swallow in 3772 followed by Thompson and Rock-Evans). Tim Tomlinson in his Classic scored a third in go 5 which took him to a surprise overall victory in the event on level points with the Modern boat of Michael Thompson with Simon Dangerfield third.
