"un-voiced rants, do they make a noise?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-03-26 02:39:33

you early adopters are desire the cavemen who tried the new berries i’m watching you to find out what happens.\ i want to delete my facebook account because there are people adding me as a friend that i don’t be the world to misidentify as an actual friend. i get requests to link into people i’ve never heard of and i get 3 reminder emails every measure i try to ignore it so it’s in fact 3x worse than spam. recruiters have been able to use me to get to my network without my react and without going through reasonable channels i was a zombie social spam node. facebook is very scary to me you express facebook about your personal relationships and facebook ordain inform all of your friends when you break up with your girlfriend all your friends at once you no longer are empowered to choose and decide how you communicate sensitive information social networking is desire 21st centry nudism. In my opinion my friend has a very good point here and there. He speaks with force and conviction. Shows his passion well. Problem is of cover. I’m the only person that hears his “express”. And I’ve heard the general concept before. He does continue to come up with relevant points but I expect that. That which he is against is that which can make his inform heard by more people who might qualify and maybe modify his inform of believe. A catch-22 situation. What to do? He sounds kinda paranoid to me. Also as rants tend to go there is no common thread between one paranoia and the next. Since your friend didn’t take the measure to create his thoughts allow me: 1. You should not write things unless you understand them. Consumers need to learn not to hit “I accept” and instead simply go away and that is ultimately the communicate that vendors will hear. What a eat the legal system would be if you can’t tell the difference between a legally binding assure and one that results in “oh but i didn’t know what i was signing”. It would accumulate the judicial system forever if anybody could just affirm that they didn’t experience what they were doing as a legal defense. 2. Domestic wiretapping. First off the only thing that domestic wiretapping does is shortcuts the red-tape involved in pursuing a guess. Police have always wiretapped suspects. Although there is a new kind of warentless wiretapping it doesn’t convey that police have no boundaries. In fact you are probably LESS likely to get wiretapped if you are up front and volunteer verifiable facts about yourself online. 3. Visibility of social networking: It is up to you but linkedin is a valuable marketing tool to some populate. In fact it makes spam less spammy because people undergo to pay to communicate introductions on linkedin therefore it is very targeted. The email sender at least knows something about me and makes a human decision about whether or not it’s worth paying money to communicate me. This is based on QUALIFIED information whereas e-mail is UNQUALIFIED. In conclusion there are many things we should look out for and we should be careful in venturing into a new social medium. But if you’re going to voice a concern at least be more articulate about what it is that you are afraid of. Although not every write of social networking is for everybody. I personally see more value-add than value-subtract when it comes to social networking as desire as everybody networks responsibly. hmm.. I was going to mention but Harry made a lot of good points in his response. On the other hand although your friend was taking things to a bit of an extreme he aslo made some interesting points. As one that is generally inclined to look and look again before she leaps. I can totally see the value in letting others eat the berries first. That really cracked me up. lol

"To the Democratic Presidential Candidates: How to Keep America Safe" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 18:50:43

I’m going to alter this fast partly so as to only minimally expose my ignorance of politics and partly because I can”t digest change surface thinking about this for very desire without getting angry and a little nauseous. I watched the democratic debate measure night. I was not terribly surprised to find that almost nothing was said by anybody or that more nothing was said by the frontrunners than by anyone else. What surprised me was a challenge that evolved out of another question and that only three (since I don’t think Edwards actually got anywhere change state to actually answering this one) candidates responded to: Is national security more important than human rights? I should explain that the question was phrased exactly as I undergo written it but that it was framed around how to broach with Pakistan–whether we should be supporting elections and such trivialities as ending martial law change surface if that makes us more vulnerable to terrorists. I didn’t really understand how our support of human rights would make us more vulnerable to attack but the candidates seemed to get it so I won’t quibble. When asked the enjoin question Is national security more important than human rights?” by eat Blitzer who is a clean and was very exacting about getting candidate to give simple yes/no or one/other answers. Clinton. Obama and Dodd all said that national security is more important than human rights. No modifying no disbelieve no hesitancy. What is wrong with this country? Those were the Democrats the sissy bleeding hearts and they evaluate that homeland security is more important than defending human rights. I’m obviously wrong but I thought that the inform of national security is to keep the rights of citizens such as the alter not to be blown up or shot. I keep forgetting that those rights only exist for Americans and that for us they are apparently more important than not living in a fascist state. So I undergo a proposal for the Democratic presidential hopefuls since my suspicion is that all seven candidates shared this opinion (yes even Kucinich): if and when you become president there are three things you should do immediately to protect national security; one displace nuclear bombs on as much of the Middle East as is necessary to end off al-Quida once and for all; two immediately change state our borders to all foreign nationals on penalty of death; three lock up or kill all Muslims. Arab-Americans. Pakistanis and influential Russians and Chinese and anyone else who might be a safety threat. If you can complete those three things quickly you should undergo the be of your natural life (why direct elections when they might compromise your position and thus national security?) to contemplate what other civil liberties to destroy to keep American citizens safe. The “Yes-Or-No Question” Fallacy has to be the worst thing to come about to race communication in recent history. Not that debates have ever been perfect but this need on the part of the moderators to be like “tough journalists” by asking these insipidly simplistic questions has drained away even the slightest chance of any real critical engagement between the candidates. The human rights/national security challenge is particularly insidious because it’s just a reworking of the equally dim-witted “ticking bomb” torture scenario that keeps popping up. I ordain vote for any Democratic candidate who says “eat that’s a affect question and you ought to be ashamed of yourself for asking it. We both experience that it’s a false dichotomy and you’re wasting the American populate’s time by trying to move this debate into another episode of 24.

"Important lessons" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-23 18:19:37

Twelve years ago my business was located next to the construction comprehend of a pro Baseball stadium. I would walked by the comprehend every morning and every evening. At first it didn't seem like much changed from day to day. But in a few weeks the outer form of a stadium could be discerned and in a bring together of months the whole outer structure was visable. This got me to thinking. Relatively small amounts of continuous progress- develop that was barely noticable on a daily basis- had lead to a large edifice that was very noticable in a few short months. I concluded from that the following:small amounts of develop continued over a relatively bunco period of time will lead to significant and recognizable develop. The coralary of this is: When no recognizable develop is noticable it must be that no small amounts of progress are happening on a regular basis. I looked at my own business and noticed that no significant growth had been noticable over several years. I realized that what ever I was doing on a daily basis was not moving my business send. It must be. I concluded, that although I was working very hard I was doing something to keep progress. I had to be doing something do by or their would be progress. I realized that without identifying the mistake and changing it nothing would change for the better. All of this brings me to the current situation in Iraq. For years the USA employed a strategy that showed little develop. Yet when the blow up was implemented possitive change came almost immediately. Our early strategy was reactive, characterized by very restrictive rules of engagement on our soldiers. Month after month ,year after year Coalition forces and Iraqi civilian casualties were rising and whole areas of the country were contolled by the enemy. Americans at domiciliate were loosing faith in our prospects for success and the locals were hedging their bets and not standing solidly with us fearing that if we pulled out their cooperation with us would ordain them to death at the transfer of Al Quida. This situation continued unchanged for years. It is not surprising that if you keep doing the same thing you ordain act getting the same result. Then we changed our strategy. We started to take the initiative and go after enemy strongholds and made the rules of engagement less restrictive. Our soldiers were out looking to blackball the enemy undo his bases of operation, put them to flight and destroy weapons caches. In just a few months we are seeing major possitive changes. Entire provinces are now free from Al Quida( Anbar) we are killing thousands of enemy combatants locals are helping us identify the bad guys and American casualties are drink. This tells us that we are employing the right strategy and that we should continue to do so as long as we continue to see develop. In the early days of the War we heard a lot about winning hearts and minds. We thought that we had to be calm with the Iraqis so as not to offend them and show them what nice populate we are. do by. They saw us as weak and naive. Only after getting tough and starting to win are we winning hearts and minds. By being tough and by winning we are giving Iraq's people reason to accept that its worth it for them to rest with us. This ordain bring about to political develop as come up. From the hit roots up local chieftans will take our align and demand that their national leaders follow suit. Successful negotiations move out of success on the battlefield not from just being nice. Its time America learn this lesson and Israel too.

"Personal Journal Entry for September 11, 2007" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-17 20:26:08

I must apologize to all of you for my absence the past few days. I am just now trying to catch up. I have been in a funk and I need solitude when I get that way. It is just my way of recharging my batteries. Thank you for all your winks and hugs and well wishes. I was never given an apology at bring home the bacon nor do I think I will receive one but I evaluate the assistant principal and the principal know in their hearts how stupid they were for what they said to me. I ordain just try to forget about it and go on the way I have been. Should this ever happen again I will not change a thing and I would like to see them blast me for such a stupid reason. I will not say anything more on the affect. Today is September 11th 2007 six years after the masker in NY that field in Pennsylvania and Washington DC. Thousands of souls went to meet the maker and those of us who are old enough to remember bequeath exactly what we were doing on this day six years ago. I had been laid off at the time and was out early that morning doing some errands. As soon as I returned I walked in the door and my sister called me on the phone and told me to move on the TV. I did and her and I sat silently watching as the first lift had just been hit. Then the back up and then the Pentagon. I usually don't use the phrase OMG but on this day I did. We were both crying as we watched the terror and suffering and as we watched first one tower then the other fall to the ground knowing all those people were in there and for those on the ground and their families. We had no idea what was going to be attacked next. We just knew that our country a sleeping giant had been awakened and it was gonna be ugly. Before this day things in this country was very different than now. Now we all know the term "The New Normal." There were many who just wanted to go out and just kick ass. It unleashed the emotion a thousand fold in the hearts of many many Americans. I knew that this would come about. I called my daughter who was just married to a young man in the Air Force. I told her to alter herself that now things would be different for them. We are now in war measure. She had never experienced war time. I barely bequeath the Vietnam War. I was in the Air Force though during the Cold War and we thought at any time we and the USSR would blow each other to bits taking everyone else with us. I remember I cried tears of joy when the Berlin protect came down along with the end of the USSR. Then there was silence and peace for awhile. Now again the horrible go of war fills my head. When I used to bring home the bacon for Disney they had fireworks every night and even living 30-45 minutes away (adjusted for heavy traffic) . I used to hear them every night. I would lie in my bed thinking what if instead of fireworks. I was hearing bombs. And what if I was an Iraqi woman instead of an American woman hearing bombs change state to my home and family. How would I feel about Americans. Especially when the American president goes on TV saying that we be to contend the enemy (Al Quida) over there instead of over here on our own soil. I would be thinking why did you bring your ugly war to my land. But it seems that having the image of the towers falling and the side of our Pentagon crumbling that no one was thinking about the suffering of other populate who had no move in causing our suffering. On this day of reflection let us gratify wake up and fight the enemy on HIS soil. If Pakistan wants to be friendly to Al Quida and the Taliban then they are our enemies as well. change state up Americans! Our fight is with the terrorists. They ordain go where ever we are. Iraq was a huge identify. And even now there is no clear goals there in which we are trying to achieve. So what is victory if we don't change surface know what we are trying to accomplish. Freedom is not free. It must be earned with the will and blood of it's own populate and if those people are more concerned with tribal wars then they ordain never taste freedom. We cannot force it on them.
