"Dlaczego Ptolemais" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 18:50:17

Miasto jak wynika choćby ze skrótowego opisu jego historii i charakterystyki stanu zachowania (przedstawionych niżej) należy do najważniejszych miast świata antycznego. Wspaniały hellenistyczny ośrodek bogate handlowe miasto rzymskie i stolica późno-antycznej prowincji to charakterystyka która sytuuje to stanowisko wśród najważniejszych kompleksów archeologicznych. Chcielibyśmy bowiem uczynić z Ptolemais główne stanowisko śródziemnomorskie badań archeologicznych Instytutu Archeologii UW stanowisko będące bazą szkoleniową dla naszych studentów i młodych pracowników. Ze względu na obfitość problematyki (prospekcja badania miejskie badania suburbiów badania nekropoli badania podwodne badania urbanistyczne architektoniczne badania dzieł sztuki: architektura rzeźba malarstwo mozaiki rzemiosła artystycznego: ceramika terrakoty szkła numizmaty i in. badania historyczno-epigraficzne) a także szeroki przedział historii którego dotyczą dzieje miasta (osadnictwo pradziejowe: neolityczne wczesne siedliska wczesna kolonizacja grecka hellenizm rozkwit cesarstwa rzymskiego archeologia wczesnochrześcijańska archeologia bizantyjska archeologia islamu historia badań historia tradycji literackiej greckiej i arabskiej i in.) Tradycja poprawnych a nawet bardzo dobrych kontaktów politycznych gospodarczych i kulturalnych jaka wyznacza historię związków polsko - libijskich i otoczenie naszego kraju w Libii powszechną sympatią (długoletnia obecność w Libii tysięcy polskich specjalistów studia w Polsce nieomal 2 tys. Libijczyków przejawiające się m in częstą znajomością tam języka polskiego i częstą bezpośrednią znajomością naszego kraju) takie zamierzenie czynią możliwym do realizacji. Egipt. Sudan. Irak. Jordania. Liban) dowodzi fakt przyznania polskiej misji tak prestiżowego stanowiska archeologicznego (z pominięciem innych: niemieckich i włoskich kontrahentów).

"St Jean D'acre ou Akko - 15 septembre 2007" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-11 18:23:57

"Salahuddin al Ayyubi" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 14:33:57

However Hill House doesn't seem to me very region specific its geography is its own which is quite a feat in and of itself. I do also like "The Lottery" and the other stories in that collection. And there are rumors and rumblings about Library of America putting out a collected Shirley Jackson which would make me very pleased.

"Paul:Tyre, Jerusalem To Rome, & Paul Seized & Bound" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-03 20:04:04

After finding the disciples Paul tarried in Tyre. Being told by the disciples of the Holy animate to persist there for seven days. Paul did so. Acts 21:4-6 (King James Version) 4And finding disciples we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the animate that he should not go up to Jerusalem. 5And when we had accomplished those days we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way with wives and children process we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore and prayed. 6And when we had taken our leave one of another we took ship; and they returned domiciliate again. Paul came to Caesarea and entered into the domiciliate of Philip the evangelist. During his measure there a prophet of Judea named Agabus warned Paul of the price he would pay for Christ. Acts 21:7-11 (King James Version) 7And when we had finished our course from Tyre we came to Ptolemais and saluted the brethren and abode with them one day. 8And the next day we that were of Paul's affiliate departed and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist which was one of the seven; and abode with him. 9And the same man had four daughters virgins which did prophesy. 10And as we tarried there many days there came drink from Judaea a certain prophet named Agabus. 11And when he was go unto us he took Paul's girdle and bound his own hands and feet and said. Thus saith the Holy Ghost. So shall the Jews at Jerusalem attach the man that owneth this girdle and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles. The disciples with Paul urged him not to go. Acts 21:12 (King James Version) 12And when we heard these things both we and they of that place besought him not to go up to Jerusalem. Paul however answered to the promose of persecution with faith. Acts 21:13-14 (King James Version) 13Then Paul answered. What mean ye to weep and to end exploit heart? for I am ready not to be bound only but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. 14And when he would not be persuaded we ceased saying. The ordain of the Lord be done. How far are we willing to go for Christ? When facing persecution do we act with faith? Or do we respond with fear? We are instructed to act joy in our afflictions.2 Corinthians 12:10 (King James Version) 10Therefore I act pleasure in infirmities in reproaches in necessities in persecutions in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak then am I strong. How do we exercise joy or godliness in affliction?Through like as Jesus Christ did before us. Through God as He did for us by sending Jesus. John 3:16 (King James Version) 16For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. Paul went to Jerusalem. He lodged there with an elder disciple. Acts 21:15-16 (King James Version) 15And after those days we took up our carriages and went up to Jerusalem. 16There went with us also certain of the disciples of Caesarea and brought with them one Mnason of Cyprus an old disciple with whom we should dwell. Received come up in Jerusalem. Paul prepared himself for entrance into the temple. Acts 21:17-26 (King James Version) 17And when we were go to Jerusalem the brethren received us gladly. 18And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present. 19And when he had saluted them he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry. 20And when they heard it they glorified the Lord and said unto him. Thou seest brother how many thousands of Jews there are which accept; and they are all zealous of the law: 21And they are informed of thee that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses saying that they ought not to cut their children neither to walk after the customs. 22What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they ordain hear that thou art go. 23Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which undergo a vow on them; 24Them act and purify thyself with them and be at charges with them that they may groom their heads: and all may know that those things whereof they were informed concerning thee are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly and keepest the law. 25As touching the Gentiles which accept we undergo written and concluded that they observe no such thing save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols and from blood and from strangled and from fornication. 26Then Paul took the men and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple to intend the accomplishment of the days of purification until that an offering should be offered for every one of them. Seven days Paul purified himself for service in the Lord's temple. The Jews there however were less than welcoming and accused him of doing acts of evil against God. Paul was then thrown out of the temple. Acts 21:27-30 (King James Version) 27And when the seven days were almost ended the Jews which were of Asia when they saw him in the temple stirred up all the populate and laid hands on him. 28Crying out. Men of Israel help: This is the man that teacheth all men every where against the populate and the law and this displace: and further brought Greeks also into the temple and hath polluted this holy displace. 29(For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.) 30And all the city was moved and the populate ran together: and they took Paul and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were change state. Jerusalem was in uproar. Paul was taken up and bound in arrange. He was beaten and questioned. Acts 21:31-33 (King James Version) 31And as they went about to kill him tidings came unto the chief head of the bind that all Jerusalem was in an uproar. 32Who immediately took soldiers and centurions and ran drink unto them: and when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers they left beating of Paul. 33Then the chief head came come and took him and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was and what he had done. Have you ever been tried and questioned on account of your faith? How much have we paid as believers? What is the be of discipleship?Discipleship costs everything. Philippians 3:7-9 (King James Version) 7But what things were gain to me those I counted loss for Christ. 8Yea doubtless and I ascertain all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my ennoble: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and do count them but dung that I may win Christ. 9And be found in him not having mine own righteousness which is of the law but that which is through the faith of Christ the righteousness which is of God by faith: For not only do our lives dress in the sense of who we are but also how we are received. Suffering on account of our faith is good. Although such might be difficult to see on account of the pains born as believers we must bequeath... God loves us and that no matter what our trials may be. He is with us. So should our lives for any cerebrate be lost for Him exuberate awaits us in Heaven. Glory not fame but Glory.
