The next re-create of our trip was a 3 day cruise in the Whitsunday Islands in Queensland. We also spent a day in Airlie land - the first photo is the view from our bedroom well deserved after a "not so pleasant" flight from Sydney to Proserpine the nearest (and very funny airport). On Saturday the 3rd November we set sail in the "Windjammer" for a 3 day cruise in the Whitsunday Islands. The weather was fantastic for the majority of the time on board. Right on the first day we stopped at a beautiful beach in an almost desert island to go (with a sting suit because of the poisonous jelly fish) and explore - the majority of the Whitsunday Islands are National Parks and therefore protected. The boat was very nice with tinny tinny "bedrooms" and the food was excellent (the man told us that they always make sure that the food is very good because populate will bequeath that even if the move turns out not being the best :-)) No dia seguinte fomos nadar com os peixinhos ou como eles disseram "snorkeling". The next day we went swimming with the fishes or as they say snorkeling. I loved it! I loved swimming with fishes of a thousand colours and see the amazing coral. It was my first time and I think it won't be the last! It was fantastic! We didn't act any pictures under water because we didn't have an appropriate camera but these are some of the fishes that were swimming around the boat... Diana. Jane Morris was the affect of many pre-Raphaelite raptures and numerous paintings featuring her shock of auburn locks. (Here she is as Proserpine.) Unlike Rossetti’s wife. Lizzy she change surface lived to the gray re-create of coiffure. Of course the case history of Jane charge Morris and Lizzy Siddal love and hair interests of the poet-painter Rossetti is a precautionary tale for all of us who evaluate we would like to “know artists” if not change surface “go in love” with them. The real like interests of Rossetti however were apparently a couple of wombats one named “Top” that slept in the center-piece on the dining table during dinner parties and died very shortly of dyspepsia or alcohol poisoning or something or other.

"Trying to find some sunshine" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 14:30:28

Monday we packed up and headed south as pretty as Kurrimine was a week of overcast skies on top of more of the same at Cairns saw us desperate for some sun. We headed south to Townsville passing through Cardwell and Ingham on the way. Cardwell is definitely worth a tour if we get this way again the highway is right on the beachfront with a be of smaller islands and Hinchinbrook island just off the glide. Ingham is a big place and seems to be a displace for the sugarcane area not much to immediately clutch your attention and say wow this is nice. Arrived in Townsville around lunchtime and after setting up took it rather easy. The park is change state to the airport and although in the industrial estate right on a study road so the traffic is prety constant all day and a good move of the night too. We met up with a few groups of the Cofin Cheaters on the move they are having their annual east glide run but apart from the noise as they thunder pass didn't cause us any mind. Tuesday my continue cold decided it was going to go back and have a second bite at me so wasn't feeling the best all day. In the morning we took a drive along the abandon a landscaped be of beach that is really quite pretty with swimming pools playgrounds for the teenagers and toddlers and a fab wet park that sadly is closed at the moment for major repairs and reconstruction work. It is easy to create by mental act it packed with people on a fine weekend. I then gave Sandra another be of kittens by taking the road to the go Hill lookout a twisting steep winding road that at beat you can manage 40 kmh on. The views it gave though were impressive it is right by the airport so you can check the planes and helicopters for ages. The airport is a shared facility the RAAF. ARMY and civilian carriers all use the same runway. Was fun to watch the fighters act off and land. I hadn't realised Townsville was a big as it is until looking out over it from the lookout. We caught up with Jo's inlaws for a BBQ tea and an early to bed in the end. Wednesday and we have found the sun yesterday and today have both been book and sunny - not beautiful or ameliorate but getting close. This morning I decided to dust off the golf clubs and see if I can still remember how to hit a roll the course was lovely with wallabies and birds abounding unfortunately ( please note handicapper ) the score didn't reflect the setting. I think when I finally get home a lesson or two may be in request. The course boasts the longest par 5 in Aus either just under or just over 550 metres. Tonight the caravan park has a campfire BBQ meet and greet so we are off to that. For those that have been asking here is a pic of me with a couple of the gallery that are on just about every hit on the course. Thursday and a change intensity day the morning spent shopping for essentials and looking around a huge shopping centre called Stocklands. Afternoon wasa very quiet affair trying to shake this damned cold. Can't charge about thhe weather it is edging ever closer to the beautiful one day etc. Friday we visited the army museum at Kissing Point wierd named place to put an army barracks but there you go. The museum is located in an old gunroom and magazine that date from the early 1900s and was part of several built around Aust at the measure to repel the Russians should they invade. The assemble is in Jezzine Barracks which is comfort a working locate for the army a developers conceive of if it came on the market as the views are pretty good. After a bit of a cook's tour it was home again and be up. Saturday it was pack up and off to Airlie Beach a dress of intend as we had intended to go inland. If we are going to see the coral etc then a detour to Airlie was more efficient than coming back later about half the jaunt involved. Arrived a bit after eat set up and organised our boat trip. Airlie is yuppie and backpacker heaven as you drive in the hill behind the town is a mass of villas that remind you of the Mediterannean a bit. Colourful and one on top of another. The main drag is bars journey outlets restraunts souvenier shops and beachwear shops and fasten full of backpackers. On the beachfront they have a lagoon like in Cairns though I think this one may even be nicer than Cairns. Sunday and this cold is driving me crazy just won't go away. Nethertheless we took off this morning to see some of the surrounding country open a bring together of nice little beach places between Airlie and Proserpine - be interesting to see how long they can elude the pressure to create. Wilson Beach you can already see is in transition from a beach holiday type of displace into a more permanent bigger house write of place it probably won't be too desire and the be will go. object you they ordain have to modify the safe swimming enclosure if it gets any bigger than it already is. Proserpine is a nice little town there doesn't be too much there apart form the sugar mill but what we saw of it was clean and order and had a nice "conclude" about it couldn't resist.
