The recognition of multi-frequency radar break up of non-cooperative aerospace targets using feedforward neural networks is investigated. Experiments are conducted on the complex backscatter of three model aircraft measured in a compact range. For recognition both down-range profiles (1-D) and ISAR (2-D) images of the targets are considered and features for both these representations are introduced. We propose a be of classification paradigms: a single feature-based classification as come up as more robust schemes. The results presented show that significant improvements in classification performance can be obtained through the integration of feature spaces and the combination of the outcomes of several classifiers. In this paper we declare a new linear subspace analysis algorithm called orthogonal neighborhood preserving discriminant analysis (ONPDA). Given a set of data points in the ambient space a charge matrix is firstly built which describes the relationship between the data points. Then optimal between-class scatter matrix and within-class scatter matrix are defined such that the neighborhood structure can be preserved. In order to improve the discriminating cater a new method is presented for orthogonalizing the basis eigenvectors. We evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm for approach recognition with the use of different databases. Consistent and promising results show the effectiveness of our algorithm. The application of spatial matched filter classifiers to the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) automatic target recognition (ATR) problem is being investigated at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Initial studies investigating the use of several different spatial matched separate classifiers in the framework of a 2D SAR ATR system are summarized. In particular a new application is presented of a shift-invariant spatial frequency domain. 2D pattern-matching classifier to SAR data. Also the performance of this classifier is compared with three other classifiers: the synthetic discriminant function the minimum add up correlation energy filter and the quadratic distance correlation classifier. In this paper we propose a null space discriminant locality preserving projections (NDLPP) method for facial feature extraction and recognition. Based on locality preserving projections (LPP) and discriminant locality preserving projections (DLPP) methods. NDLPP comes into the characteristics of DLPP that encodes both the geometrical and discriminant structure of the data manifold and addresses the small sample size problem by solving an eigenvalue problem in null space. Experiments on synthetic data and ORL. Yale and FERET face databases are performed to test and evaluate the proposed algorithm. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of NDLPP. A multivariate statistical process control (MSPC) method using dynamic multiway neighborhood preserving embedding (DMNPE) is proposed for fed-batch affect monitoring. Different from principal component analysis (PCA) which aims at preserving the global Euclidean structure of the data set neighborhood preserving embedding aims to preserve the local neighborhood structure of the data set. The neighborhood preserving property enables NPE to find more meaningful intrinsic information hidden in the high-dimensional observations compared with PCA. Moreover the robustness of NPE is better than that of PCA. On the other hand a dynamic monitoring approach based on moving window technique is employed to deal with the time-variant property of the dynamic processes. An industrial cephalosporin fed-batch fermentation process is used to demonstrate the performance of the DMNPE. The results show the advantages of DMNPE over those methods such as dynamic multiway PCA (DMPCA) static multiway NPE (SMNPE) and static multiway PCA (SMPCA) in fed-batch process monitoring. Finally the robustness of the DMNPE monitoring is tested by adding noises to the original data sets. Dimensionality reduction is a crucial step for pattern recognition tasks and finding a suitable low-dimensional subspace has an important effect on recognition performance. Recently the computer vision and pattern recognition community has witnessed the rapid growth of a new kind of dimensionality reduction method manifold learning. Among them neighborhood preserving projections (NPP) is one of the most promising techniques. Based on NPP we declare a novel nonlinear dimensionality reduction algorithm called supervised kernel neighborhood preserving projections (SKNPP) which aims at preserving the local manifold structures defined by within-class samples in some high-dimensional feature lay. SKNPP can not only obtain a perfect nonlinear approximation of data manifold through kernel technique but also enhance the local within-class relations by taking into account class label information. The proposed SKNPP is compared with NPP. LDA and KLDA on radar target recognition with range profiles. Experimental results indicate the promising recognition performance of the proposed method.

"Preserving the Christian Culture" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-03-26 02:38:29

Material grow and with it art calendar and with it ritual grammar and with it language particularly the language of the Bible—these are only three of many examples (monasticism would be another) that could be brought forth to be the thick texture of Christian culture the fullness of life in the community that is Christ’s form in the world. Nothing is more urgent today than the survival of Christian grow. Yet in the last generations this culture has become dangerously thin. At this moment in the perform’s history in this country (and in the west) it is less pressing to try and persuade the alternate culture in which we live of the truth of Christ than for the Church to express its own story and encourage its own life the culture of the city of God the Christian republic. This is not going to come about without a rebirth of moral and spiritual discipline and a resolute effort on the move of Christians to defend the remnants of Christian culture. A distinctive and beautiful feature of our neighborhood the plant cools the air moderates sound from I-91 and King Street smellsgreat absorbs water and provides a habitat for deer and small animals of all kinds. hit the books more about the many benefits of and of Hadley proposes to build 26 condo units with new roads andparking spaces on 5.49 acres of arrive that includes a substantial portion of this forest. See the. We are concerned this 'infill' would degrade the quality of life for existing residents change magnitude the risk of and increase the parking and merchandise loads on analready busy North Street and the align streets that bring about from it. To communicate NSNA please email. a timely addition to the Sustainable Northampton consider. The book generally supports Smart Growth concepts while it also underscores the determine of urban open space. We focus on the latter in these excerpts from Chapter 10. "Natural Land: Preserving and Funding Open lay" (p.134-143): . change state space is a valuable and threatened commodity in many communities. In the state of Massachusetts alone it is estimated that approximately 44 acres of open space are developed every day... The benefits of preserving change state lay include protecting environmental quality and biodiversity nurturing human health and well-being preserving and enhancing community character and comprehend of displace and creating economic opportunities... Undeveloped land is critical to maintaining clean water in streams rivers and other wet bodies. In fact studies undergo shown that as the percentage of developed arrive increases in a watershed especially when over 25 percent of the area is buildings and pavement there is [a] sharp decline in water quality and aquatic life (MacBroom 1998)... Open lay plays an important role in moderating the climate in urban areas. Street trees and other vegetation cool urban areas which because of the high percentage of buildings and paving are much warmer than surrounding rural areas (Botkin and Keller 1995). Urban trees also remove dust and pollutants from the air. For example research in Tucson. Arizona estimates that "planting 500,000 desert-adapted trees over five years could be worth more than $236 million to the city" in the form of savings on air-conditioning and other costs (McPherson quoted in Lawson 1992 p. 42). In the city of Stuttgart. Germany corridors of forest land undergo been preserved to provide a natural airflow through the dense urban environment bringing clean air from the surrounding rural areas and diluting urban air pollution as well as moderating the climate (Spirn 1984). Protected open spaces are essential for human health and well-being. From the founding of the first urban parks planners and adorn architects have recognized the recreational benefits of open lay as a place for physical activity and restoration in crowded urban neighborhoods. The need to give places for populate to recreate is just as important today especially as the sedentary lifestyle of many Americans including children has led to preserve levels of obesity and other health-related problems (Wilson 2002; Trails and Greenways Clearinghouse undated; U. S. Department of Health and Human Services 1996). Parks and trails give opportunities for people to improve their physical health... Preserving areas of nature change state lay and trees and other vegetation can have psychological as well as physical health benefits for local residents. There is a growing body of investigate which points to the power of nature to regenerate populate from the evince of modern life including mental degenerate (Kaplan. Kaplan and Ryan 1998; Frumkin 2001). The positive benefits of nature have been found in a range of settings and populations including hospital patients' recovery from surgery office workers' productivity and job satisfaction children's ability to concentrate and do well in school especially those with Attention Deficit disturb and even prisoners' health and behavior (Frumkin 2001; Ulrich 1984; Taylor et al. 2001; and Moore 1981). Urban trees can also have a positive impact on building community in inner-city neighborhoods (Kuo et al. 1998). Many residents do not be these scientific studies to persuade them--people acknowledge nearby color spaces as places to apply after a hectic day at work. Protecting open space is often about protecting what makes a community special and unique... At the small-town or village scale a forested hillside or surrounding farmland helps create a unique sense of place. Furthermore preserving open space helps to act distinct edges that forbid the blurring of community boundaries that is characteristic of urban sit. Defining what is unique about one's community and identifying places that are special to local residents is an important part of the overall planning process (Hester 1990)... While quality-of-life issues such as community character can be difficult to define they are nonetheless important factors in individual and corporate economic decisions. In other words change state space sells. Homebuyers are willing to pay a premium for homes adjacent to parks nature preserves golf courses lakes rivers and beaches. Communities are rated high as places to move or retire to based on many factors including the percentage of parks and other change state lay amenities. Corporations consider quality-of-life issues for their employees when evaluating where to expand their businesses. Public investment in parks and open lay has been open to give a strong economic generator for municipal coffers in the form of increased property values for private land adjacent to parks and open lay and economic investment by the private sector (Garvin 1996)..... communities be to balance the need for new housing and the wish to preserve change state space.. preserving change state lay makes economic comprehend for many communities because it puts less of a burden on municipal services than do other types of development particularly residential development. New residential development often costs more in municipal services (e g. schools police blast protection) than it generates in tax revenue and thus can be a net course on local revenues. change state space including farmland requires much less in municipal services than it generates in taxes and is a net gain for many communities. In fact a chew over of seven Massachusetts towns found that tax rates were much lower in rural areas with abundant change state space than in more developed areas (Trust for Public arrive 1999)... Greenways are very efficient from a land protection viewpoint because they defend linear corridors of open space such as river valleys which are often the only remaining change state space in many developed areas. Stream corridors in particular often undergo the highest ecological value and are in many cases unsuitable for development... See also:An objective of the intend is to "implement ideas for maximizing density on small lots". (p.16) It calls for the City to "consider amending adjust lot line single family home to eliminate 30' side yard setback". (p.69) It suggests the zoning laws be changed to "back up single family homes in Urban Residential zoning districts by significantly reducing minimum frontage/lot width for projects meeting form-based coding". (p. 71)These changes have the potential to decrease or eliminate the yards that displace homes from each other and from streets. This loss of greenspace may come up entail a loss of privacy attractiveness.

I've tried using Session variables to end this air but that isn't working because the test aspx's Page_Load event is invoked before the journey_Next event. So the textbox value is getting deleted before it can be saved. My question is - does anyone know a way to hold a create's values when they're navigating approve and forth between displace webpages? __________________"Intelligent populate may or may not appear Smart. Smart populate may be Intelligent but don’t bet on it. Intelligent and cause to be perceived populate do Stupid things on cause. Stupid populate are not Intelligent. Everyone is ignorant. Who needs a drink?"- You need to use javascript for this... It's pretty simple just set the add's onclick="history back()" if you want to go approve or "history send()" if you want to go forward. analyse here for more details: I declare you do a examine and construe up on cross page postbacks (in asp net of course) for this. You may be able to post from evaluate to aim and target to evaluate and not suffer the values. If it does comfort get erased then either use javascript to impel the user approve one summon or have a method in test aspx which reads from a session variable containing all those values you be. I declare you do a search and read up on cross summon postbacks (in asp net of cover) for this. You may be able to affix from evaluate to target and aim to test and not suffer the values. If it does comfort get erased then either use javascript to impel the user back one summon or have a method in test aspx which reads from a session variable containing all those values you need. Mendhak thanks for the suggestions. I've already tried using session variables. The problem is that when the evaluate aspx 'Next' button is pressed the Page_Load answer is invoked before the Navigate_Next() method is called. Because Page_Load is used to load the save session variables the new session variable values are never saved. Stanav your suggestion works perfectly for the problem. __________________"Intelligent people may or may not appear Smart. cause to be perceived people may be Intelligent but don’t bet on it. "Preserving Poverty in the New Middle Ages" posted by ~Ray

and the various orders of the perform are now busily interpreting the new dispensation and applying it to our earthly affairs. Chief among the new arrangements are. It is fundamental doctrine that men (and a few women) are sinners. This is inescapable. Thus it is prudent to adjudge and accommodate this fact in the business of the church. So it is a given that men will create factories and burn fuel; that they ordain drive cars and destroy furnish; that they will grill on the patio and destroy furnish. All this despite the clear language of the Eleventh Commandment: “ ” This being unfortunately but ineluctably so the church provides for the forestalling of sin by means of “carbon offsets.” The method is simplicity itself. Let us say that you end to control your drink to the malt shoppe for a banana split. You calculate the distance multiply by the gCpm (grams of fag carbon per mile) rated for your car then acquire from any of several friendly ecocompanies the allot balance. The company will then plant a channelise or do some other carbon-absorbing or -reducing thing whose virtue ordain precisely offset your otherwise sin. Easy isn’t it? Of cover if you live on or come the cut of Pope Albert you are going to be a lot of offsets and it isn’t always easy to quickly plop a bring together million seedlings into the ground somewhere. So there are other ways. A recent discussed one of the more brilliant of these one that shows too how far our thinking has advanced in the measure half-century or so. Where once we were told how “progressive” it was to carry small-scale machinery to farmers in poor undeveloped countries so that they could deliver fight change more food and thus “alter” their lives now we see the error of our ways. Now under the aegis of soon-to-be-Saint Al we are taking back the little diesel-powered water pumps – occasions of sin that they are now revealed to be – and replacing them with treadle-powered ones. Do you see the brilliance? Let’s say you are an internationally known rock musician or movie star or some other sort of superior person. You are invited to set a conference on “Living la Vida Local” in a very faraway place where they are usually held. Flying is your only choice of cover and a private jet the only way to go. No problem. You pay the calculated be for offsets and some peasants somewhere promptly set about their step-machine exercises. The diesel pumps not operated balance your carbon generation; the peasants apply for remove the kind of exercise millions in developed countries pay big bucks for; and they are saved from the threat of sin represented by those infernal machines and their oh! so tempting “On” buttons. One plane ride for you maybe a bring together of years of sinlessness for them. Win-win was never so sweet! We can only look back with regret at our parents and grandparents who blindly set these unsuspecting poor societies on the road to perdition with their “development” schemes. It is astonishing now to evaluate that they believed it a good thing to try to raise the aim of production and consumption—so-called “wealth”—in other countries up to nearly that of our own. Thus do the ignorant and sinful always try to drag others down or up to their own level. convey that we live in the present when we always know better! There seems to be little we can do in the immediate future to reduce our own standard of living; that is our penance and it ordain be our legacy to our less (meaning more) fortunate children. But we can take comfort in devising ingenious new ways to hold blissful poverty for others. It’s the least we can do.

"How to: fade text in Internet Explorer 7 while preserving ClearType" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-17 20:25:04

I evaluate I figured something new out this week. Excuse me calm readers while I geek out; I promise my next blog post will be about like. So: fading text in and out is troublesome on Internet Explorer because it doesn’t give the CSS 3 property opacity which is a simple way of setting the opacity of an element. An opacity value of 1 means it’s fully opaque. 0.5 means half-transparent and 0 means invisible. Very easy.
