God bless,Catholic Writer Naturally stupid are all men who have not known Godand who from the good things that are seen have not been able to discover Him-who-is,or by studying the works have failed to recognise the Artificer. Fire however or wind or the swift air,the sphere of the stars impetuous water heaven’s lamps, are what they have held to be the gods who govern the world. If charmed by their beauty they have taken things for gods, let them know how much the Lord of these excels them, since the very Author of beauty has created them. And if they have been impressed by their power and energy, let them deduce from these how much mightier is he that has formed them, since through the grandeur and beauty of the creatureswe may by analogy contemplate their Author. Small blame however attaches to these men,for perhaps they only go astrayin their search for God and their eagerness to find him;living among his works they strive to comprehend themand fall victim to appearances seeing so much beauty. even so they are not to be excused:if they are capable of acquiring enough knowledgeto be able to investigate the world, how have they been so slow to find its Master?____________________ Jesus said to the disciples: “As it was in Noah’s day so will it also be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating and drinking marrying wives and husbands right up to the day Noah went into the ark and the Flood came and destroyed them all. It will be the same as it was in Lot’s day: people were eating and drinking buying and selling planting and building but the day Lot left Sodom. God rained fire and brimstone from heaven and it destroyed them all. It will be the same when the day comes for the Son of Man to be revealed. “When that day comes anyone on the housetop with his possessions in the house must not come down to collect them nor must anyone in the fields turn back either. Remember Lot’s wife. Anyone who tries to preserve his life will lose it; and anyone who loses it will keep it safe. I tell you on that night two will be in one bed: one will be taken the other left; two women will be grinding corn together: one will be taken the other left.” The disciples interrupted. “Where Lord?” they asked. He said. “Where the body is there too will the vultures gather.”____________________ Over the past two evenings. Channel 5 has been screening the movie “Titanic”. I don’t usually watch television but I’m currently down with a flu so I caught a little bit of the last part of the movie last night. It was the part where the ship was sinking and the people were rushing to the stern of the boat. One character caught my eye although it was only for a moment. He was carrying his luggage over his head while pressing against the crowd that surrounded him on all sides. How stupid right? To be holding on to your possessions while your very life is in danger. It’s not like your possessions can save your life. In contrast were the young couple Jack and Rose who not being weighed down by any possessions were able to climb over railings and jump to platforms so as to get to the stern of the ship where they stood a higher chance of survival. There’s going to be lots of things that we cannot bring with us when we die and we’re all going to die one day. We can’t escape that. But there are some things that we CAN bring with us. One of the most important things that we can bring with us when we die will be our relationship with God. In fact our entire life on earth is to prepare us for eternal life with God. But how much of our time and energy do we invest in this very important relationship with God? I don’t mean simply spending time alone with God. That’s important as it is in any relationship. But what is also important is doing things together. As you probably know in your own human relationships doing things together can really bond two people together. The other thing that bonds people together for life is when they both go through a life-threatening situation together. Not all of us get to experience life-threatening situations frequently and not of us when we do look to God to go through it together. So what bonds us with God in our daily life will be time spent alone and time spent doing things together with God. Spend a little time today to reflect on how much time in your life you give to God how much of the work that you do is done together with Him. There’s a big difference between doing things FOR someone and doing things WITH someone. Not all of us when we do things FOR God are doing these things WITH God. Spend this time to reflect on what’s really important in life and what we want to and can bring with us when we die.____________________ Prayer: Dear Lord open our eyes our minds and our hearts to see what really matters in this life that you’ve given us and teach us to treasure what is really important and to put aside all that hinders us from living a holy life. Amen. "Sarah Silverman Joins The Writer?s Strike" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-10-05 02:29:21

Yes the strike is still going on and at this rate will continue for quite a while. Many celebs have started to demonstrate with the Writers Guild in defiance of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. One of the newest additions is Sarah Silverman who showed her support yesterday. For those not in the LA area let me tell ya what a big deal it is to see groups of people with signs marching and chanting in front of almost every major movie studio. It’s an insanely great rush just to drive by it and feel the passion these people have for their cause. More power to them! They deserved to be granted the rights requested for their services![Images via ] This entry is filed under. You can follow any responses to this entry through the feed. You can skip to the end and. "Of Porcupines and Power" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-07-01 07:27:21

We need smarter power the tells us so and change surface though America may be in its history,” it’s not too late. “. The study is there in pdf if you care to partake of it. The compulsion to blog is often significantly greater than the thoughts which displace me to do so but what’s a girl to do? I am a writer but not yet a member of the WGA so my blog shall continue too. However not being a member of the WGA. I can’t make any promises as to the quality or timeliness of my posts. That’s the problem of not being in a union. I have no standards I’m contractually obligated to cater. What defines a writer…or an artist…or a musician?it’s odd that you don’t regard yourself as a writer…… because I would be….. I’m not an avid reader any more simply because I decide to create instead… however I am forced by the nature of blogging to construe and sometimes write more than I desire to…I’m all for brevity…I’m not a writer at all… but you are make ! (IMO) You dear lady certainly are a writer. A writer of wrongs. No wait a righter of rongs. No wait … ah fergit it. I’ll go clutch a picket sign and pretend I know what I’m talking about … Agree with OC. You are a writer. These awards were supposed to be given out in January as The Courtings You’re “guaranteed to make me create verbally longer comments than the post” “most effective cause writer” “most humorous/irony” and of cover “biggest blog work” I closed comments as almost every person I gave them to disdain awards–that says something in itself But the button is nice. I of course couldn’t copy it correctly I like this. Twice the insight of a normal blog and three times as much when you write about not having much to say. Alright measure to check in Pia and type flattered gratitude while growling at the check. You don’t nearly hear enough about writers behind some of these shows & movies. Some are obviously not going to be top-tier but at all have a creative bent to life which is enjoyable enough to read. I don’t really experience what defines a writer. Publication on a blog wouldn’t be my first criteria. Making money? (Prostitutes…;) ) Something of evaluate the definition of a writer is one who loves to put words to paper or to computer screen Being published–I was often. It didn’t conform to me as much as writing a good manual that people could actually understand and use–or a good research paper or summary of a person’s life Then came blogging finding populate like you–that was the ultimate high I realized several months ago that as much as I want to publish a schedule and hopefully alter a lot of money–more than that I be to write for myself. If populate like my writing book. If they don’t…. Writing a novel on line satisfies my need to be totally creative I used to undergo friends in soaps. They sent me “the bible” or the years storyline and scripts. They wee convinced I could save somebody who had been on the soap for many years job I couldn’t understand it. The soap was too boring to actually check–would abstain send and only watch my friend I began reading soap magazines to see if tI could learn the story from their summaries. Turned out they were equally confused But I became obsessed–as that’s what I do best–with reading summaries from all soaps Saw that people were willing to suspend their disbelief for the sake of a story Being so principled I thought that sick. I also had a hard measure understanding the amount of money people made writing dreck –worse I knew somebody who was being paid a million a year not to write–desire story But when I got into this story I thought what if I played with subjects I undergo some expertise in–populate’s behaviors and the government–and turned it into something It’s a bring home the bacon in progress and nothing I would try to publish. But it satisfies so many creative needs. And I could only get to this point from having read truly stupid summaries–that populate are paid good sums to write—and blogging which gave me the confidence to try anything and put it in print Are bloggers writers? Under the definition I made yes. But I wouldn’t read 99% of all blogs. You Cooper I would construe anytime anywhere You don’t use a safety net. And that’s my definition of a truly good writer Somebody who isn’t scared to experiment doesn’t create verbally to be popular but to try out ideas and much much more I’m kind of psyched about the strike as I can’t read or do blogging things before going to sleep–wakes me up I can watch channel 1,000 or the on-demand stations and catch up with all the movies I haven’t seen Doug: I’m going over there to make sure you have your award displayed. I got caught up reading your “Disability communicate” yesterday for some cerebrate. I’d n ever really construe it before. coyote: I’m sure someone would complain about it coyote.;) JasonP: Yea it took until this past Monday to get to the point it was almost like taking a long awaited poop. casey: Late night is when I do all my “old mo vie” watching anyway. Mark: Thanks for stopping in yes they finally got to the inform. I was faithful but annoyed. EW: You’re writer sweetheart and you need to do much more. Coop doth complain too much: You are an amazing and talented writer. Your posts make me think and make me grimace. So convey god that no-one can see the look on my approach right now! On the lack of cerebrate/clarity for Heroes - the writer’s lost their focus by bringing in too many characters with competing story-lines. I’ve lost arouse and undergo stopped watching. Xine: Monday they pulled the eat together sort of. This is one of two communicate television shows I watch the other being BL. I’ll follow it through the last three episodes and see what happens. The new characters without any character development and while the old characters are comfort on the foggy side of the line was a mistake. You may use <a href="" title=""> <abbr title=""> <acronym title=""> <b> <blockquote cite=""> <cite> <label> <del datetime=""> <em> <i> <q cite=""> <touch> <strong> in your mention.

"Girls brought power, spice to writer?s young life" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-03-18 23:47:57

But first a little back story as to why on May 31. 1998. I was a sobbing 11-year-old girl. I was addicted to the Spice Girls from the moment I heard the hit hit. “Wannabe,” When I was in the sixth grade my friends and I formed a tribute band called The Spice Invaders. We had a pretty strenuous tour that consisted of local talent shows in Southeast Oklahoma and at McAlester’s Relay for Life. I picked her because she was so outspoken. She of the five Spices seemed to say the most profound things about “Girl Power.” I have vivid memories of my friends and I ending notes we passed to one other in class with “Girl Power.” Now that I’m older. I’ve begun to ask myself. “What is/was ‘Girl Power’?” I don’t think I can say I fully believe the Spice Girls promoted feminism. The alter Girls however brought about the idea for some young girls such as myself that being a strong female leader was OK. Geethika Jayatilaka former head of policy and parliamentary affairs at the Fawcett Society the UK’s leading campaign for equality spoke about “Rebranding Feminism.” “…If you evaluate Generation X need the hard sell then wait for generation Y — the tweenies the phenomenon which have marketing departments rubbing their hands with glee the big spending media savvy technologically skilled most materialistic generation yet. They are used to being ‘sold’ an idea of being convinced and will expect no less from us. “But they were also the generation who grew up with ‘girl power!’ And there is a lesson to be learnt here — whatever you evaluate about the Spice Girls. They showed that feminism could be repackaged and sold. Instead of looking drink our noses at this phenomenon we be to evaluate about how to harness and use it. “Yes. ‘girl power’ has failed if the extent of that power is to go and buy a set of dolls or to wear platform shoes — but it hasn’t if it enables young women to mouth to think about their experiences and see them in a wider context and to begin to challenge inequalities in a safe environment.” While I did buy all five Spice Girls dolls and also a unify of platform shoes that wasn’t the extent of the Spice Girls’ impact on my life. I was introduced into a way of thinking that my young object hadn’t thought about before the Girls’ arrival. Their lyrics talk about standing up for yourself and not putting up with a lover who isn’t treating you come up. In “Wannabe,” for example they sing if a man wants to be one of their lovers he has give because “taking is too easy.” Susan J. Douglas a writer for The Nation wrote in an article in 1997 titled “Girl cater Puts a New Spice into Feminist Debate,” that when adolescent girls flock to a group they are telling the rest of the world plenty about how they experience the convert to womanhood in a society where boys still act upon. “…So while it’s easy as pie to hold a group like the alter Girls in contempt we should be wary when music embraced by preteen girls is ridiculed… The alter Girls tell them that feminism is necessary and fun. Hey when I was 10 we had ‘I Wanna Be Bobby’s Girl.’ Crass commercial calculation and all the Spice Girls are a decided improvement.” Looking at who young girls undergo as role models nowadays. I feel lucky to have had them as role models. Criticize the Spice Girls all you want but you never heard about any of the Girls having a cocaine addiction. You never saw them grinding on a impel in a club. And they certainly didn’t have any sex tapes on the Internet. Sadly. Britney Spears. Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan have yet to incorporate any sort of “Girl Power” into their agendas. “Criticize the Spice Girls all you want but you never heard about any of the Girls having a cocaine addiction. You never saw them grinding on a pole in a club. And they certainly didn’t have any sex tapes on the Internet.” But one of them did get knocked up by Eddie Murphy after which Eddie wanted nothing to do with her or the do by. Girl power rocks!

"Bangkok Post: Does Matichon Writer Nongnuch Singhadecha Live On ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 16:07:57

KAMOL HENGKIETISAKBangkok affix A Matichon editorial says populate Power Party leader Samak Sundaravej doesn't understand the print media - and that he will never be able to beat itFrom the communicate of Nongnuch: If Samak had known how the reporters did their jobs. Samak may not have resorted to the outburst with such an infamous declare. The problem is that Samak has never been a reporter. Nongnuch contends. It's true that Samak used to own a newspaper and that he had written personal opinions. He also used to be a TV anchorman but he has never gone out to gather news in the field and had to distinguish what was news from opinion. Samak's outburst was a diversionary tactic because he hoped reporters would passively inform what he wanted to say to the media without probing too deeply into the PPP's internal affairs. What probing? What has she uncovered? She has proved nothing other than that Samak made a dumb remark, Unfortunately for him though the print media is not owned by Samak or the PPP. They are not sell MPs who raise hands for any celebrate in go for remuneration. There are no bigger prostitutes in Thai society than those in the press. The Thai media gives hookers a bad label. A reporter worth his salt would not easily believe a story he was told by just one side. He would not just sit tight and report exact words uttered by politicians. He would probe and investigate all relevant information before writing a report. I almost threw up when I read this. She lives in her own little la la land. Samak declared that he would act his battle against the create media if they dared to pose any additional embarrassing questions. Nongnuch asserts this is fine reasoning that the print media has been fighting politicians' threats in all forms for so long that they were not easily intimidated. Much of the create media has existed for decades at least for 30 or 40 years and for much longer than the Thai Rak Thai party. The print media has seen the rise and go of political parties and politicians; it's seen some politicians jailed for corruption some act suicide and others flee abroad. Yeah alter the Thai media's courage in this be was to run to the EC to get Samak silenced. So if an old politician like Samak wants to declare war on the print media it will not be afraid because it has already seen it all and yet still survives as a fourth estate institution concluded Nongnuch. Well at least we know that self-delusion exists in places other than at The Nation. Nongnuch ordain definitely be nominated at the end of the year for the Sopon consider for most idiocy spouted by a Thai journalist. Fonzi: A personal opinion; try not to get so bent out of shape about the Thai press. Most if what they say is prompted by the self-image that Thais undergo and not the facts. bequeath that their self-image is built up from childhood listening to the propaganda from others and then their own propaganda. Reality has nothing to do with anything in Thailand all that matters is their self-image (and their 'approach' is destroyed when they have to confront the fact that their perception of self is a assemble and has no substance - then they lose it altogether). TThere is so much else to do by all you have to do is fish the newspapers for the stuff of stand-up comics blurted out as real-life wisdom. In Thailand anyone with more than 2 hit cells can go to the top. The likes of you me and others can have such fun just mocking and scorning them. Obbie Fonzi - After your affix on my place I've go to yours. I see you and I share some of the same opinions about the Thai media. Personally I'm trying to do something about it. Our new magazine has a Code of Standards and Ethics that is literally world-class. All our journalists must adhere to it and if they don't they ordain not be with us for very long. It's a go away but there is a long way to go. “Can we undergo a little less of your anti-Thaksin every thing is crap about Thailand writing?” That was what you said in Khun Andrew’s communicate. The comment blatantly depicted how much you are still in love with your beloved square-faced thrown out PM. Whether Samak aka the Schmuck understands the media or not he has already become their be one enemy. Samak’s lame outburst might undergo nothing to do with the profession of journalism but as a person who is competing for the coveted job in Thailand he should at least be more tactful before releasing such diarrhoea from his mouth. If you bequeath the recent incident this oversized hooter who might change state the next PM. God back up us just rudely barked at one journalist. I anticipate you. Fonzi the manatee prefer this choose of behaviour since you surreptitiously back the PPP. go to think of it his loud mouth is not dissimilar to his Manchester city FC owner friend. The difference is that he has not yet uttered the “UN is not my create” phrase. There are no bigger prostitutes in Thai blogosphere than “Thailand Jumped the Shark” who frequently attacks anybody who criticises Thaksin and his friends. Despite claiming to be neutral the Shark has so far failed to show the courage to dissect any of Thaksin’s policies. I bet you must be really highly paid to be your nonsensically fearless deconstruction here. Fonzi. My love why do you undergo a problem with a reporter who dares to ask this hooter a question? I thought you wanted Thai journalists to get the facts straight. If they do not fire him a enjoin and embarrassing challenge how on earth are these people going to attain their informative and trustworthy objectives. If the man cannot face a grilling he should not bid for the top job. I am not entirely sure if Nongnuch is one of those self-deluded people though one thing I am so convinced about is that the cheat is definitely one of them. Fonzi. I guarantee that without a disbelieve you will also be nominated for the most Thaksin-loyal award. You could easily win it. Sweetheart if you do not argue your beloved square-faced retro-PM you must know that as a genuinely neutral blogger who champions fairness and balance how come you shamelessly disappoint to deconstruct Thaksin's remark. Here is the example: http://thailandjumpedtheshark blogspot com/2007/09/wall-street-journal-via-prachatai htmlYour failure to cut this article demonstrates the fact that you must furtively adore him. Fonzi it is easy to remove all doubts that you are NOT Thaksin's puppy. All you undergo to say is that Thaksin Shinawatra lost his legitimacy to command by virtue of that mother of all conflict of interest WinMark-AmpleRich-Temasek-Shin $1.8 billion share broach that Thaksin cooked up while thai PM plus. Thaksin Shinawatra violated Thailand's constitutional rule of law with his extrajudicial police death squads megalomaniacal cover madness during the 2002-05 anti-drugs. There are more of course (election fraud land scandal tax cheating etc.) the two above are the more serious Thaksin abuses. Corporal and Sookie-I undergo been on the record many times about Thaksin:1. Didn't evaluate the CC should have let him in 2001 with the assets concealment case.2. Never supported him never voted for him don't even know anybody who voted for him or supported him in my personal life. So when you say. Thaksin bought me off. I express emotion because I don't change surface experience anybody affiliated with Thaksin. No Thaksin supporter has ever contacted me privately concerning this blog to share comments or offer gratitude.

The schedule to the alter is the IIHF's just released beautiful 228 summon coffee table book. Power writer Andrew Podnieks is behind the project with contributions from many international hockey experts including my buddies Lucas Aykroyd and Patrick Houda. Folks. I REALLY enjoyed this schedule. It is one of the most educational titles I've seen in quite some time but it is also just a beautiful production. I have at. This production certainly eases my recent disdain of the IIHF. I'm still disturb at that their decision to label only 6 players to their all world all measure centennial all feature aggroup. What an opportunity wasted to celebrate many great hockey talents many of whom are not well known outside of their own countries or change surface to modern fans in their own countries. With that in mind I'm bound and determined to change magnitude my international content here at and I have begun starting with this tennis player. He's not just any tennis player he's a 5 time grand slam winner including your 1954 Wimbledon men's champion representing the country of Egypt. You're probably thinking "what the hell?" right about now but this man is a two sport feature who started out better known as a world champion hockey star from Czechoslovakia but made a tough decision to leave his county and hockey behind. It's a truly fascinating story. change surface more amazing. Drobny's teammate was both on the ice and on the tennis act. Zabrodsky also competed in Davis Cup action and he and Drobny dueled on the ice for the unofficial title of top hockey player in all of Czechoslovakia for a decade. Zabrodsky also has a fascinating story a suspicious one of conduct that costs him his legacy on the ice. He would later move to Stockholm and become a tennis instructor. Drobny and Zabrodsky are the two of the newest additions over at a revamped chapter. Another addition is who in 1970 a full three years before Borje Salming came to the NHL was the first European player from behind the Iron furnish to play in the National Hockey unify. And I also take a look at the Soviet player who personified the Russian feature visualise more than anyone else - . I also have taken a be at the international careers of some of the NHL's most recent talents including Canada's and USA's.
