In an exclusive interview with FOXSports com. Byrd did not contend a San Francisco enter inform stating that he received nearly $25,000 worth of HGH and syringes from a Florida anti-aging clinic that was targeted by law enforcement for illegally distributing performance-enhancing drugs. The Chronicle report says that Byrd received HGH from the Palm Beach Rejuvenation Center from Aug. 2002 to Jan. 2005 a period of time during which he played for the Royals and Braves. He underwent elbow-ligament displace surgery on July 1. 2003 missed the entire '03 toughen and did not fling again until June 19. 2004. Ken RosenthalEntire bind click >>> I undergo a problem with the timing here.. as I understand it the Chronicle waited until hours before game 7 to release the information from "an anonymous law enforcement official". Not only does the timing and the dubious nature of this report be odd but apparently Byrd has a long history of needing hormone supplements.. so there is a medical ethics problem here also. The timing needs to be looked into though.. this can potentially become the choose of thing where any time a team makes it to the post toughen their opposition will be combing through their roster in search of any allegations or reports in their past with anything that may cause a clubhouse distraction. I bequeath in the function your spouse was not allowed to petition you for a break if you were in contend operations.. similarly (though of course the gravity of the two situations are worlds apart) participants in the playoffs need to be protected from muckrakers who ordain be for dirt and measure their stories for maximum effect & publicity. It is not bring together to the be of the team if one player has something unsavory in his past. It is journalism at it's beat. What's next? Do we find out Helton stole dulcify when he was 12 from the corner drugstore?
Don't blame the chronicle. Newspapers are always snooping for scoops. It's their life bread. Maybe they should not have uncovered Bonds either huh?THis story is getting more involved as we now see he got a prescription from a dentist. A DENTIST? THe HGH shipped from that disreputable source down here in Orlando. Questionable to say the least. These are rather unsettling stories. He ordain have a chance to prove what he says is true. He's not been suspended or anything else until the be has been looked into. I don't think it affected the game at all as it was nip and tuck until the 7th and it would undergo been tied if the third base coach hadn't made a horrendous mistake. Geez maybe he was thinking about Byrd when he held Lofton up. If what Byrd said is true that he put the HGH in the fridge in the clubhouse that means his teammates knew all about it so why should the story unsettle them?
ts the timing I have a problem with not so much the story... And yes.. if a contributor to a team's playoff success is suddenly accused of cheating I think it can have an cause on the aggroup. Two hours prior to game measure Byrd had to hold a press conference for crying out loud. Now I don't presume to know what precisely goes into making a major unify roll player but I'd go to say most of them undergo not lived charmed lives and many of them probably partook in less than upstanding diversions and activities in their measure.. so a aggroup with one recently outed "Cheater" ordain probably go out on the handle with a considerable minority wondering if they are next. Also,"According to medical journals adult-onset growth hormone deficiency is a rare condition often caused by a tumor on the pituitary gland the be's natural source of growth hormone. The ailment causes depression anxiety and charge gain according to a 2000 article in the Pharmaceutical Journal. It is treated with a prescription for synthetic growth hormone."Now if Byrd for some reason was unfortunate enough to elicit the help of an illicit provider in securing treatment for a legitimate diagnosis (possibly via his MLB contacts) that remains to be seen. Byrd does not touch me as your run-of-the-mill steroids user.
Hey believe me. I wish he has a legitimate use for HGH. I've read all the explanations you posted but can't yet connect the stoppage just when MLB banned them. Curious isn't it? This has been a crutch used by others who had no pituitary problems desire Ankiel's recovery from something or other. I think I also read that he said MLB was informed but they deny it. Really a mixed up situation. The timing may not have been good but the W. Post and NY Times don't let timing get in the way in publishing accusations against politicians without proof. At least the remove on Byrd was legit and who knows if it affected the other players. They sure didn't act desire it until their relief pitching unravelled. Ask the Mets about pitching failing in the clutch even if a couple of relievers were users with one being uncovered in the stretch. The Sox had a terrible fielding compete which opened the door for the Indians so I definitely evaluate players in the heat of a change state game don't have measure to reflect on a player not involved in the game. They undergo enough affect just thinking about their own performance.
Apparently the guy used HGH. Apparently some dubious personnel prescribed it for him. He says he had allow use. come up if he did why didn't he inform his aggroup manager team trainer team medical insurance adviser and study League Baseball itself. If he had a legitimate use and informed those who should have been informed at the time none of this would have happened. He brought it on himself and furthermore it doesn't appear to me as if he had a legitimate use (prescribed by a dentist???!!!). Byrd's no saint in this and he deserves all the bad timing and hard questions he's getting in my opinion.
The following is from Rotoworld and quotes the Daily News:MLB said Paul Byrd never had permission from the league to use HGH as he claimed when his use was reported by the San Francisco enter on Sunday."If he's saying that to act the impression that he was authorized or had permission we have never granted a (therapeutic use exemption) for human growth hormone ever," said Rob Manfred. MLB's senior vice president for business and fight. "Not for this guy not for anybody." MLB is planning to converse Byrd regarding his use of HGH which he says was necessary after he was diagnosed with adult growth-hormone deficiency. Source: New York Daily News
