Many people undergo a challenge of whether to accept the "extra" books that are in the Catholic Bible. The Catholic OT has 46 books while the protestant cannon has 39 books. Now we have to understand 3 major things.1. The Bible did NOT fall from thin air with a comprehend table of contents saying this is in the Bible and this is NOT in the Bible2. The Bible is not an witness account to ANYTHING!3. There are NO COINCINDENCES IN THE BIBLE!Now that we understand this let's get to the discussion at hand. During Jesus' time there were two types of Hebrew Scriptures. The first one is the Septuagint (which is the Greek Canon of Scriptures). This is a more up to go out version of an older Hebrew Text. The majority of Jews outside of Palestine were speaking Greek at this measure hence the be for a Greek Scriptures since Hebrew was not the language of choice. The back up is the Palestinian Canon which has 39 books. This was used by the super traditionalist Jews that were in Palestine. Also of note the Greek Version was accepted during this measure by the Jews in Palestine as Scripture. Now we be to keep this in mind. So that brings us to the million dollar question: Which version did Jesus' and the Apostles' use? The Septuagint was the more available version of the OT that was circled around so it is more than likely Jesus' used the Septuagint. Now It's been said that about 70% of Jesus' Scripture quotes the Septuagint version of the Bible. Now what I'm about to do is show you where the Deurtroconcal books are shown in the Gospels and how we can be sure that the apostles' knew of them. (I'm also going to show you some septuagint verses). The majority of the disciples (not inculding the 12) were more fluent in Greek (this is known by the fact that Ss. Luke and attach wrote in Greek). For all of the Bible verses you'll be reading i'll be using the CCB version of the Bible you're welcome to use any brand. Matt 2. 16: When Herod found out that he had been tricked by the wise men he was furious. He gave orders to blackball all the boys in Bethlehem and its neighborhood who were two years old or under. This was done in lie with whwat he had learned from the wise men about the measure when the feature apeared. We as Catholic Christians experience this to be the passage for Holy Innocents,Wis 11. 7: a stern response to the decree of ordering the slaughter of infants. But against all hope you gave your populate wet in abundance. St. Matthew was a direct student of Jesus. You sight immediately the parallels of this passage to Matt 2. 16. The slaughter of infants the passage in Wisdom is a foreshadowing of Herod's atrocity against humanity. Matt 6. 19-20: Do not store up consider for yourself here on hide where moth and rust destroy it and where theives can take it. Store up consider for yourself with God where no moth or crumble can destroy nor theif can come and take it. This is a teaching of Jesus Christ to the disciples just after the Our create now Jesus is the obtain of all Truth you undergo to think that the disciples would undergo recognized this especially coming straight from JesusSir 29. 11: Use your money according to the commandments of the Most High and you ordain sight it more valuable then gold. Again looking at this passage putting the money with God (treasures in Matthew) we see that this passage is similar to this passage the communicate is the same behind both passages :) another way to be at this passage is that Matthew passage is a follow up to this one. Matt 7. 12: So do to others whatever you would that others do to you. This is the Golden Rule (the Rule that somehow everyone has)..... Tobit 4. 15 Do not do to another what you would hate done to yourself. Now looking at the statements you could say they're oppisite but they're not by any means. In Logic there's something called converse which is -p --> -q.(for any statement p and q) which is exactly what we see here. That the two statments convey exactly the same thing but said oppisitely. As I have said there are no coincidences in the Bible at all. :). You might also remember this from your Geometry class where you had to do those 2 collumn proofs lol (those were the days). Matt 7. 16.20: You will recognize them by their fruits. Do you ever pick grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? So you will know them by their fruit. Let's act a be at Sir 27. 6: A well tended tree is shown by its fruits so that a mans's feelings can be detected in what he says. The discorse in Matt 7. 16-10 can be considered an extention of the discourse in Sirach. bequeath that Jesus is the source of all Truth :)Matt 9. 36 When he saw the crowds he was moved with pity for they were harrasssed and helpless like sheep without a shepard. Jud 11. 19 Then I wil lead you thrrough Judea untill I bring home the bacon in Jerusalem where I ordain set up your tent. You ordain lead them desire sheep without a shepard and not one dog ordain growl at you. I undergo been given a premontion of these things. It has been revealed to me and I undergo been.
