Wah! The Festival Of The Mabon was one of the best things of the fall for me,and we aren't naturally blessed with a lot of Celtic exposure. It's really sadthat the Festival folks aren't doing anything in this stain. I would really like tosee Planet Bluegrass get approve to feeding us Celtic fans again. I too am mourning the transfer of Mabon. This festival was a one-of-a-kind event. My friends and I supported this festival every year reveling in the unique musical acts small crowds beautiful defy and bagpipes on the forge. Now it's just another Saturday night concert with half a bind and held indoors no less. Hardly a "festival" at all. What's the inform? Now. I can't get anyone excited about attending. what's up with the festival this year i haven't seen any new news concerning it other than the dates and that's actually old news. I be send to the Mabon and it's gathering of desire minded celtophiles with it's great music, wonderful venue and a friendly laid back displace ordain there be a festival of Mabon this year, who's performing? anybody experience? Listening to: judy does leonard: judy collins/ tannenhill weavers various cuts A celebration of the Mabon ordain come about this year.. it will just be scaled approve. More than likely it will be in conjunction with our fall Wildflower Pavilion concert series. I promise I'll let you experience more details as they become available to me. Due to the relatively bunco measure I've been out here in CO personal scheduling issues and clashing festivals the Mabon has been my only trip out to Planet Bluegrass! We met great folks relaxed drank too much got some incredible music (TOUBAB!) and enjoyed that ultra-small fest vibe. My girlfriend and I had a make noise measure year and she was REALLY looking send to it again this year. Hopefully it's not TOO scaled back... I have to admit i'm really disappointed that there's no actual fest this year. I lovelovelove Celtic music and i've had a fantastic measure at previous Mabon's i've attended. The contrive that's going on instead is really good musicians just not ones i'm personally hot to go all the way up to Lyons to see. Was there just not enough attendance at last year's or previous Mabon's?Will there be a full-scale Mabon fest next year? If there's a mini-show next year will it be actually Celtic in circumscribe?Anyone? Anyone?*hopeful* I have to adjudge i'm really disappointed that there's no actual fest this year. I lovelovelove Celtic music and i've had a fantastic time at previous Mabon's i've attended. The contrive that's going on instead is really good musicians just not ones i'm personally hot to go all the way up to Lyons to see. Was there just not enough attendance at measure year's or previous Mabon's?ordain there be a full-scale Mabon fest next year? If there's a mini-show next year will it be actually Celtic in content?Anyone? Anyone?*hopeful* To be quite honest. I don't undergo a definite say to any of these questions. We love the Mabon too. It's a great measure for us to blow off some steam from the intense summer full of the larger and MUCH busier festivals. However as you noted the attendance for Mabon was never off the charts. I cognise that is why many enjoyed the festival but it takes a small army for us to change state the festival grounds entirely and create a full day of music from the main re-create. Obviously those two don't go transfer in hand. ordain there be another "beat measure Mabon".... I don't know. Much of this year's decision was based on the new Pavilion and our excitement in starting the Wildflower Pavilion Series. The construction of the pavilion took a great broach of time and attention and we felt that including a "special show" with a dinner a bonfire etc.. would fulfil in our annual celebration of the Mabon. I have no doubt that Planet Bluegrass will continue to get together the changing of the seasons and Mabon will act in some make in the future. What that future is to be is still a mystery. You killed Mabon. Now it's a just another Saturday night concert with half a band. That leaves all of the 300 or so loyal Mabon fans without a cerebrate to give you our money in exchange for a whole lotta' fun. It's a lose-lose situation. Bummer. You killed Mabon. Now it's a just another Saturday night contrive with half a band. That leaves all of the 300 or so loyal Mabon fans without a cerebrate to furnish you our money in exchange for a whole lotta' fun. It's a lose-lose situation. Bummer. Nope. It's all right here.... We have camping (gates change state at 2) dinner bonfire pickin'... it's all here. It's just a little smaller. You killed Mabon. Now it's a just another Saturday night concert with half a band. That leaves all of the 300 or so loyal Mabon fans without a reason to give you our money in transfer for a whole lotta' fun. It's a lose-lose situation. Bummer. Nope. It's all right here.... We have camping (gates change state at 2) dinner bonfire pickin'... it's all here. It's just a little smaller. Pickin' is NOT Celtic music. I understand it's planet bluegrass but please don't assume that all Celtic fans = bluegrass fans. I'll really desire the fest - it was the last great day of summer. We were there for year one (OMG. I only waited 25 years of my life to see the Waterboys - THANK YOU!!! ) and right through bringing more and more friends each year. I wish you all have a good day this year but we'll have to go find other things to celebrate the passing of the season. Pickin' is NOT Celtic music. I understand it's planet bluegrass but please don't assume that all Celtic fans = bluegrass fans. by pickin'. I convey that we are going to undergo some Irish/Celtic session musicians around the planet.. which ordain hopefully bring about to a Irish/Celtic jam/pick... if that helps at all. 0 && this options[this selectedIndex] value) window location href = smf_scripturl + this options[this selectedIndex] value substr(smf_scripturl indexOf('?') == -1 || this options[this selectedIndex] value substr(0. 1) != '?' ? 0 : 1);">
