Intro Ok I tried to make a picture to show you what I mean below. The picture shows both dot lines. At the end I have propsal of how to nerf the classes more equally and make the game more fun for everyone. Thanks Lucetius kloggmore. be1Magician and anyone else I forgot from using quotes from there posts. Why the nerfs cause to be perceived sorcs more-traditionally as a sorc most of our damage lies in the agony tree not the calamity channelise so a reduction in crit would affect our direct damage more so than our dot's which arent that good anyway.-BW's are immolation the reduction in crit wouldnt affect the overall damage of say 5 dots stacked as opposed to 3 shot nuke chain which is how a lot of sorcs are specced.-Increased DoT damage by anywhere from 5-8% for both BWs and Sorcs (most BW go down this line.. so who gets a buff? but we both get nerfed in the other 2 tree.. excpet only sorcs really go down those other 2 trees) but because BWs have a substantially higher base damage on DoTs (cause their mulitple debuffs and better dot spells etc) their raw damage benefit is actually higher making balance issues worse. -Lowered DM build pace for both BWs and Sorcs equally but because BWs rely more on DoTs which build DM slowly anyway this tends to affect the Sorc disproportionally. -Lowered crit % from DM without changing come about. DoTs. BWs' strong suit undergo the lowest DM numbers while enjoin spells the Sorc frequently uses have the highest. This means not only does the Sorc who has to keep his DM high to get respectable dmg take a much bigger hit from this the relative backlash. If speced the Agnony tree (DD channelise) you take many more backlashes than the dot tree and who uses the dot tree and who the dd tree? meaning who will get dmg more for even less crit? This is why -100% DM/straighten you'll both crit at the same rate but the spell with higher base damage will do much more actual alter. Also the argument was that DoTs can be casted BEFORE reaching 100% combustion to reduce its backlash damage and then buffed afterward (via scorched earth or other spells). DoTs calculate crit chance based on current DM/combustion level per tick. An incineration/agony spec character needs to pre-build up DM/combustion as the spell will act the DM level at cast measure to figure out alter. So for BWs who inherently use immolation combustion is slightly less dangerous as you casted your damage spells before reaching 100%.-Fix our dot tree and tactics and the syngeries to them (which aren't in this picture becasue the picture was already big enough) and then we will revcieve a nerf on equal ground. Not we will hit what you don't use anyways while your mirror categorise does use and benifit from it while not buffing the trees of yours that are actually useable.-Go play on pts.. the BW are comfort up there with other range dps (thought I dont see why be dps that doesn't hurt themselves does the same dmg now as ones that don't) and sorc are in the lay of the case. Very different that live even without the crit nerf yet. Propsal People cry and about dots in games. It happens in all games with any pvp aspect. No one desire the coward tactic where everything can be done on the run (run in 3 instant casts than hide at the approve of my team for 15 secs tell leaving it hard for melee dps to get the sneak jump on them). However. Buffing sorc's dot line even more to make it equal will only makes it so sorcs will only use this one line too (and the will beging again). At least a dd line you must sit still and cast be vanurable at times (the ae lie has some pointblack stuff and channeling and therefore some vanurablility (but can hit mulitple populate).. both lines act more come about overtime than the dot line) and that is why you should get an extra burst(DD line) over a bear on line(dotline) while using them. Fix it by making dots have cast time or alter it so dots recieve less crit dmg from combustion/dm (so dots only get 50% extra dmg if they crit but dd line comfort gets 100% extra dmg on a crit you won't hear as many QQs (about the BW dot hit for 1k a tic while they are no where to be found) but they still keep good sustain dps if speced that way and a burst spec isn't hurt disportionality with the crit change. Or if you wanna reduce crit overall do not hit the base vaule of the dots which already were powerful for BW pick the DD line or Aoe line as they are cause by the crit reduction more than a dot lines are (the reason you do not comprehend BW tears alter now is because most know this change will not effect them as much as the dot line recieved a little base buff and they recieve less backlash anyways). Burst (DD) dmg is effected by a crit nerf more than sustained dmg of a dot line. Like this everyone will be running around dotting up everything and running away which will only enlarge problems for everyone espically healers and melee dps. Picture of the 2 channelise.. some of you said its our fault for not picking the dot tree over are other tree as you on the recieving end of the BW dots and do not relize our tree is not the same. Not in the dot line but 2 other examples of how BW can do much more on the run than a sorc which adds to why they needed a different kind of toning down than one that effect both classes (I would lay out sorcs even more)Sorcs do not benefit from the dot buff as much as BW because we don’t all spec dot line. Actually very few go down that line fully. Sorcs go aoe or agony (I am agony). Anyways trading us dot buffs for nerfs (crit and other mastery lie nerf) does not help sorcs it helps BW (as it soften the blow they are doing more dmg and to tone that drink there will be a crit nerf but that will effect sorcs too not giving them really the benefit). The only way that will dress is if our dot line is reworked so we all spec the dot line too. alter now SH/eng/Magus dmg is identical or surpassing sorc dmg on the PTS server and they don’t have to cause to be perceived themselves to do. All the changes aren’t in so far but BW are comfort on top and sorc undergo moved drink to being in the mid range of the RDPS classes. BTW this is in killing blows too as I experience dmg means really little object why should one class hurt themselves to do the same dmg as another that doesn’t. Left in bet feed back too though the typing area is limited so posting here also. I am not saying sorcs should out dmg other RDPS classes but 100k but 15% is reasonble with the backlash mechanic (maybe sight a way to make dot planters recieve as much backlash as people speced in the other mastery lines). As for CC that was a step in the right direction.. we should have the least amount of CC in the game. We are getting the glass but not the cannon if the crit nerfs go in and change surface right now some may argue. Iceheart Bw advantages over sorcs are more CC the abilty to debuff there own damage more mobilty (due to most of there spell being insta-cast) and an insta-cast aoe conquer(compared to a 2s cast time)AND they comfort have a 50% healing debuff aswell (it has been nerf so that if doesnt kill the healer) but it is comfort a healing debuff Infernal Gift only useful if they are 2 sorcs with it that is rare in pre mades never in pugs. Umbral Fury only works for the sorc now (got nerfed) comfort useful. Tapping the Dark a shity small 300 protect. Not worth the tatic and the 7 point in agonny. Was acceptable with Umbral Fury before the nerf. Nearly same as Emporer's Ward but BW get as a core tatic Triumphant Blasting has been nerf to give Kb immunity. If aoe spec not worth it in PvP since player will be knocked out of your damage spells pit of shades or out of range equals very little damage for your best spells. Pve is good becuse of the KD effect. Other specs other than AoE ok but no great only used for emergencys to get tanks and WH off you. I would prefer this to be a knock drink in both pvp and pve then it would be useful Bw has sone very good tatic too where is the Sorc equivalent to: Flashfire?Burn though?Smoldering Embers?Ignition?Fuel to the fire?Crown of fire?Fan the Flames? I think its safe to say that both classes undergo talents and skills the other do not and if Sorc's stopped focusing on the fact that BW's undergo DoTs they may actually find their spot on the battle field. Just because they undergo a reflect mechanic doesn't convey that they are mirrored skillwise. Many mirrors are the same way just look at how much more damaging the WE is incomparison to the WH. So Sorc's are the chemistry lab partner that makes things blow up right away and BW's are campers roasting marshmellows over a camp fire to make smores. Also. BW's don't have more CC than Sorc. I think its safe to say that both classes have talents and skills the other do not and if Sorc's stopped focusing on the fact that BW's have DoTs they may actually find their spot on the battle field. Just because they have a mirror mechanic doesn't mean that they are mirrored skillwise. Many mirrors are the same way just be at how much more damaging the WE is incomparison to the WH. BW's can spec for CC there's forbid displace and roll in immo and backdraft in there aoe spec. They also get a morale 1 knockback and a morale 2 pbaoe stun. There's also withering heat which has a snare while withering heat is mostly used for it's alter making it harder for the target to get away/towards the BW is a very nice bonus. They're not CC monsters but they're not helpless with it either. Honestly BW get some nice tactics it's just they're all to buff their own damage it seems and not to add utility desire the sorc's are. Flash Fire is great an instant cast fireball when any of your spells get disrupted is useful regardless of spec and awesome when specced incin. Fuel to the fire is nice upping the damage of BW's 3 main DoTs. Fan the flames increasing the radius of detonate and rain of blast is a nice tactic too. The poster also said that triumphant blasting is worthless if you're aoe spec which is true as when you're aoe spec you want the enemy clustered together and triumphant blasting just knocks them all away each other. The aoe spec seems just fine though it doesn't match my play style so i never spec into it. While i'm at it i don't understand why BW think their incin mastery is weaker then the sorc's agony mastery. BW get fireball barrage in it which is basically 3 75% fireballs in 3 seconds which is just silly damage plus some bonus aoe damage. BW and sorc are very equal in the DD masteries. BW's can spec for CC there's stop drop and roll in immo and backdraft in there aoe spec. They also get a morale 1 knockback and a morale 2 pbaoe immobilise. I would in all honesty trade all of my tactics for all the Sorc tactics. I'm not trying to flame here.. and I guess everyone's opinion is different. However. I honestly believe Sorc tactics are exceed overall and seem to furnish exceed benefits in more situations. Agreed. Flash Fire sucks big time. The spell animation plays and gives each "insta" direct spell a cast timer. Of the listed tactics only Fuel to the fire and fan the flames appears to be used in any larger increase and that's for two different spec types anyway. Immolation is good no doubt about it but it isn't a killer. It is add up damage on many targets. The provoke of Immolation is that it is easy to play. But I consistently see Sorcerers do at least as much damage and often more then Bright Wizard counterparts. I could understand these complains if Destruction always lost in RvR/Scenarios - but seeing as how far from the truth that is... well then it looks just like people don't want to loose at all. I like how the guy above pointed out choking smoke is getting nerfed to be the EXACT same as the sorc silence yet the sorc quoted it and listed insta cast silence way to read there buddy someone obviously doesnt bother readingand i must be blind because i cant sight anything about combustion changes anyone link me? and yes i have been on the pts
