"Save Safari-loaded password-protected PDFs" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 15:46:16

When viewing a password-protected PDF from within Safari or by selecting change state in Preview from Safari's Contextual Menu the option to deliver the PDF doesn't exist nor does the Print to PDF option exist within the create Dialog box. However if you write the PDF's URL open the Downloads window (Command-Option-L within Safari) and then attach the URL the PDF will start to download (i e be saved).[robg adds: A comment on the queue place notes no write is required; just drag the icon next to the URL into the Downloads window. say that this hint doesn't blackball the password protection; it merely allows you to transfer the document.] The following comments are owned by the person who posted them. This site is not responsible for what they say. This works to transfer ANY file/page you undergo the URL for and has for some time. Very useful-I have frequently used this procedure to initiate file downloads most commonly when I need to re-download a file for some cerebrate. Just alter click the previous transfer in the downloads window copy location then attach it approve in. Viola-file downloads again! Usually at least sometimes sites are set up with redirects/cookies/etc such that this doesn't work. Good tip-I'm surprised this hasn't been posted here before!---Aluminum iMac 20" 2.4 GHz/3GB/300GB HD Remember that password protection for pdfs is apple trying to bullshit you. As long as you experience the password for the pdf these restrictions are artificially imposed by apple because they think their users need a nanny. If you know the password you can do anything you like to a pdf (whether you are allowed to is a different challenge but that's not up to apple to decide). Any sensible browser (except maybe Safari) will let you download and deliver whatever pdf you like and you can use pdftk for dilate to shift the "password protection" and express apple f*** you you ain't bullshitting me :)

I undergo a class library DLL that has client web services reference. The compose is dynamic and in generated app config the URL is listed inside <applicationSettings>. I am using the class from web Application(WAP) and by copying <.. Properties. Settings  to web config I am able to change the URL just by modifying value in web config(I even wrote helper class to ). The approach is well described in I recently tried to call the same client web services categorise from windows console application. I copied the same section <.. Properties. Settings  to console's app config but URL specified in config file is ignored and application uses fail hardcoded value. I tried a few things without success. The troubleshooting is very annoying because  if the corresponding setting in config file not open. . Net infrastructure doesn't report any warning but just uses default vaue.  I ended up by writing extra label to read URL from app settings and explicitely appoint URL to web function with the code similar to the following:
