Tasted by on 11/28/2007: At Quattro. Coming off the heels of the '97 WS Olivet Lane it was obvious that to everyone this was several steps down in enjoyment. Decanted for ~1hr prior to drinking which clearly was not enough. Given the other notes. I figured this to be a big and accessible bear assail. That was not really my reaction. While big. I found it to be pretty hard and angular with high acidity; in other words brunello like. With that said this was nowhere change state to the best young brunello I undergo tasted; nonetheless. I think with measure it ordain create by mental act into a reasonable QPR at sub $40. Try again in 2010. (321 views)

Sweet currants jammy ripe color fruit cassis... Day 2 - cassis ripe jammy fruit great shiraz. yeah. oh.. Day 4 - bdx band-aid? some oak lots of bdx fruit today - still cant see anything "sangiovese-like" here but the "sweet jammy fruit" is gone long finish with serious tannins. Blind - Cab or Bdx Blend. Monsterous and not Brunello-like at all evaluate maybe for the young coarse tannic finish. I have a bring together of these and will bury them for at least five years in the hopes that something beautiful will come from this ugly duckling. (381 views)
Tasted by on 9/15/2007 & rated 94 points: From 375mL store. Not decanted. Allowed to exist for 1 hour in the glass. Consumed over the next two. Dark ruby/black colour. Big brooding look showing graphite wood minerals/stone dark black bear and peach. Hints of caramel and pencil shavings. Almost St. Emilion-like on the look. Full-bodied still showing big upfront bear but has great acidity to lift the booze off the palate. Good coordinate as well. Dark bear. Typical modern Sangiovese characteristics. Great long finish. ~40-45s with dark fruit and sottobosco. Very approachable in this format but comfort showing primary do by fat. be forward to seeing how this ages. (1062 views)
Tasted by on 5/27/2007 & rated 88 points: I'm just not sure what to evaluate. The 2001 Frescobaldi seems to go up short in the middle almost like there was a dilution of fruit. This wine seems to say mass-production to me. It is a decent wine but one of the top Wine Spectator Wines of the Year? You must be joking right? The 2001 Argiano is about five times better. Sipping on a final furnish hoping it ordain get better but it doesn't be to be improving much. Rating: 88 points. (1888 views)
Tasted by on 3/28/2007 & rated 91 points: Great nice and supple. It was too smooth that it did not comprehend like wine but very nice grape juice. Had this bottle with EQ Syrah and Gaia estate (greece booze). Very drinkable but perhaps lacks complexity and cater. But very elegant and easy drinking wine. There are alots of red fruits and very come up balanced.. The nose was slightly muted but again very come up made wine... Might buy some more next measure.. 91 inform (2394 views)
Tasted by on 3/18/2007 & rated 92 points: I couldn't elude popping this -- my first of my '01 Brunello lay aside that's been staring at me for weeks. desire gripping tannins dominate -- but there is substantial fruit smoke and earth in the accent to make you cognise that this is a winner. If you have several of these you won't be disappointed by trying one now. pour for at least 2 hours however. A 92 now but substantial upside in the future. (2512 views)
Tasted by on 2/10/2007 & rated 92 points: back up bottle of this Brunello. I ordain let the other four sit for a while. This is a geat wine but it may be shutting down. Decanted for two hours before pouring. Didn't undergo the same force on me as the first bottle did a few months ago. It was comfort a real interact to have this booze taste so great while comfort so young. It will only bet better with age. At least another year before popping the next one. (2806 views)
Tasted by on 12/2/2006 & rated 94 points: Opened and decanted for four (4) hours. Rebottled prior to leaving for dinner at Pazzo in Rocky forge. CT. Re-opened and poured one (1) hour later. Great fruity nose that filled the table. Very change surface wine but the tannins are evident. change surface after the desire dacanting the booze got change surface exceed as the evening progressed. Matched perfectly with pasta with tomato sauce of sausage and porcini mushrooms. Five more of these to go but ordain wait at least another year for the next store. This wine should act to age well inot the next decade. (3781 views)
Tasted by on 9/25/2006 & rated 92 points: : 13.5% €25Slight sign of seepage on the plug. Dark purple impenetrable has a sheen on the surface. Aromatic look of vanilla indian ink and blackcurrent. Very lush fruit attack and great texture - reminded me of Sine Qua Non Syrahs in that consider. color cherry ripe but not over sweet after the first flush of fruit a serious grippy tannic underbelly appears acidity is lighter but comfort fresh. Despite the modern style there are clear 'Brunello' signs - I could not misidentify this with a 'common; grape. Tannins firmed up on day 2. (4079 views)
