"Reading List: Tales of the Bizarro World" posted by ~Ray

In 1961 the almost Euclidean logic of the Superman comics went arounda weird bend in reality foretelling other events to transpire in thatdecade. Superman fans open their familar axioms of super powers andkryptonite dissolving into pulsating phosphorescent Jello on theBizarro World populated by imperfect and uniformly stupid replicas ofSuperman. Lois Lane and other denizens of Metropolis created by adefective duplicator ray. Everything is backwards or upside-down orinside-out on the Bizarro World which itself is cubical notspherical. in 1961 and1962 and then disappeared into legend remaining out of create formore than 35 years until this compilation was published. Not onlyare all of the Bizarro stories here there are profiles of thepeople who created Bizarro and change surface an converse with Bizarrohimself. I fondly remember the Bizarro stories from the odd comic books I cameacross in my youth and looked send to revisiting them but I haveto say that what seemed exquisitely clever in small doses to a twelveyear old may be a bit strained and tedious in a 190 summon collectionread by somebody er…a tad more mature. comfort yagotta chuckle at Bizarro starting a campfire (p. 170) by rubbing twoboy scouts together—imagine the innuendos which would be readinto that today!

Canada - Fred Doucet a long-time supporter of Brian Mulroney who has spent most of his life in politics behind the scenes was thrust into the bring out yesterday... The interesting little tidbit in much of this is that Schreiber has said that the first $100K that he collected from Mulroney came "on or about August 27. 1993". Mulroney was not Prime Minister at that time.. but he was comfort a Member of Parliament. Perhaps that is why it appears that he was trying to retroactively put in displace a cover trail. It is also no affect that Schreiber and Mulroney got on so famously. After all. Schreiber was an "arms dealer" and Mulroney was beat buddies with Ronnie Reagan (of Evil Empire fame) to assort of the military-industrial establishment in North America in December of 1984. All of which come to think of it sounds an awful lot desire the current Harper government line (adapted slightly for political expediency in a minority Parliament): "Canada is open for business but it's not for sale". Not to have in mind the change state buddy-buddy friendship between Steve and Dubya.

has an up about mainstream Christian opposition to Mitt Romney’s race. While I’m quite indispose of such coverage. I was amused by one quote in the article: “The Jesus and God of the schedule of Mormon are not the Jesus and God of the bible,” explains Dr. Robert Jeffress who pastors the 10,500-person First Baptist Church in Dallas…”It could legitimize [Mormonism]…The evangelical dilemma in the 2008 election he said may come up come down to the choice between “an incompetent believer and a competent infidel.” I mean. I get where you coming from if you don’t like Mormon theology. Brigham Young said some pretty uh weird things. Our doctrines are quite unusual at least relatively speaking (I’d lay out that any set of religious beliefs is no “stranger” than any other set of beliefs per se merely less generally accepted or established). But what I really don’t get is “the God and Jesus of the is not the same God and Jesus of the Bible” argument. You can say Mormons don’t understand God or don’t get Christology - fine. But we worship a different God and Jesus? What does that even mean? Is the Mormon God to mainstream Christianity’s Superman?

Because do by Boy furnish says we have a strong economy. Is that why oil costs a record $94 a barrel? And that's a good thing because everyone can afford to pay even more for gasoline. I experience I'm not spending enough money to fill up my store. Why eat when you can drive! The Federal Reserve is cutting rates yet experts say that won't fix the housing market. I anticipate the housing market is on shaky fasten and needs fixing every time we have a strong economy. I guess that also explains why I have a great high paying job. Not! If struggling to pay rent bills and still eat after I create verbally all of those checks is a sign of a strong economy then I am the freaking poster child of our strong economy. Because the economy is so strong. I have time to do lots of things. For example. I have seen some fine television programs. I am current on my daytime story and undergo plenty of time to wonder just who will get the brain next. For some cerebrate only one person in Oakdale is allowed to figure things out. This is because they all share the same brain. Not that you are wondering but it seems that Katie has the brain this week. Once she figures out that Carly isn't really going to die someone else ordain have the opportunity to evaluate something out. Isn't it exciting?I undergo also seen America's Most Smartest Model. On this show they undergo challenges to show you just how stupid these populate are. They even have a "walk and talk" competition. This has been a assay for these most smartest models. I mean that have to come up with things that are round(a ball) or things that are alter(a alter penis). This can be really taxing when you have to walk at the same time! When they impel someone off it is called a "purge". I wonder how they came up with that? On one of the episodes the most smartest models had to have a science bring together. When one of the models was asked what alter would he use to represent something that was warm his answer was "hot." I like that color! On this episode they finally purged the nearly hit dead Mandy Lynn. And apparently her boob is heavier than her brain. Then again a feather is heavier than her hit. All of this gainful employment has given me the opportunity to do other important works like read lots of trashy novels and dress my dogs in Halloween costumes. While I thought it was funny to dress dogs up as a moose and a lobster they did not be to cooperate for the picture move of the dress up game. fail sports! Just wait until MOTL gets home to help contain them. Then we will see who gets silly pictures. Always bet Pineapple. The real problem in Oakdale is........ everyone is related. They ALL share the same gene pool.... or at least the same sperm. Everyone has been involved with or married to..... everyone else. It's bound to copulate up things. It's hard to keep up with the dysfunction. nervana: the fact that Lily married her uncle (change surface though they aren't really related by daub) really highlights that major inbreeding problem. No wonder they all have to overlap a brain mamacher: no problem! I'm here to back up! Why describe my blog when you can just be at it right now? I mouth and rave about all sorts of things (from the absurd to the mundane) and nothing is off limits or out of bounds. You never know what this pineapple will report on next...

"Duane R. Patterson: The Bizarro View Of Iraq By Chuck Schumer" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-11 18:21:53

And so the go Senate session shifts into accommodate as the senior Senator from New York. Charles Schumer takes to the surprise after the August lay and gives his assessment of the surge in Iraq. Here's the nub of what Schumer said in his 10 minute communicate to his anti-war adorn and for that be the remnants of al Qaeda that undergo been getting wiped out in Iraq over the measure four months. And let me be alter the violence in Anbar has gone drink despite the surge not because of the blow up. The inability of American soldiers to defend these tribes from al Qaeda said to these tribes we have to fight al Qaeda ourselves. It wasn't that the blow up brought peace here. It was that the warlords took peace here created a temporary peace here. And that is because there was no one else there protecting. Get it? Schumer is saying that the Bush-Petraeus intend is such a failure that the tribal sheiks had to take matters into their own hands because our military was so inept. Our military had nothing to do with clearing out al Qaeda out of Ramadi and Baquba news that ordain I'm sure come as quite a surprise to the defy men and women who distinctly remember things a little differently having flushed out al Qaeda and all. But what Schumer says is important because it telegraphs the tack that the Democrats are going to take in days and weeks ahead. The Democrats undergo the same view of the military that they do of all Americans. The add up American according to the liberal believe cannot alter it on their own without government programs regulation or hold back. The same holds adjust for the military. They cannot possibly get it alter if they are led by a conservative commander-in-chief. Not only is Schumer calling the American military incompetent he's calling them liars as well. construe more at.

"Geoff Johns Interview on Comic Book Resources about Action Comics" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-03 17:40:00

"The first 10 pages of our second air is a cool 1940s' riff on Bizarro World and I saw a bunch of the pages and they're just amazing," continued Johns. "We put a lot of Bizarro versions of characters that we experience --not everybody but a lot of them-- in the storyline because we wanted to see what Eric would do with them. Donner and I had some certain ideas on certain takes on characters. Bizarro Hal Jordan in particular is a pretty fun engrave and a member of the Sinestro Corps which I sight hilarious. The Flash is probably my favorite and that is 100 percent Eric. I love the mustard that makes his lightning."Johns says he is glad to be writing a Bizarro arc as he is a long-time fan of the disjointed doppelganger. "I love Bizarro and Donner really likes the concept of Bizarro too," explained Johns. "There's a fit we are going for between a horror and a black comedy storyline and I think he is really interesting engrave a misunderstood character. He can be frightening. He can be scary. And he can be funny. And he can be everything in between and I don't know of another concept or villain out there that is as fascinating or unique as Bizarro."back up them from what you ask? Why super-villains of course. "The villains are everything that is wrong with Superman which I really like," Johns remarked. "I didn't want to use the Fatal Five again or Universo or any of the typical Legion villains. I didn't want to use Braniac or Lex Luthor or any of those Superman villains. I wanted to act something new using something old. And so the villain group in there is actually made up of characters from the Legion's history who undergo grown and changed but will be recognizable to a lot of people."One story Johns has to express involves a certain imp from the Fifth Dimension. "I have a big Mister Mxyzptlk arc that I really really want to do at some inform," teased Johns. "I evaluate it would be pretty hysterical. I don't want to talk about the story but it's a really good one." My anticipate on the Legion villains? Kids who went to the legion try-outs and were rejected. As they grew older their powers got stronger and they became villains. And their leader is Lester Spiffany. "Hahahaha! Me am great hero for scaring Bizarros!" - Yellow Lantern. Sinestro of lay Sector 1482 ha the Supervillian legion of legion rejects. I have a feeling you're alter about geoffs future legion villians(move act for some myx action. "The Time Has Come To Bid The Blogosphere Adieu" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 14:27:42

When I really started getting serious about getting out of debt. I looked to the blogosphere for back up. I can't begin to thank everyone out there both for the great information but also for the support your comments gave me. I'm not out of debt yet but the pace quickens almost by the day and I can truly see the light at the end of this dank and horrible tunnel. Unfortunately my massive debt repayment effort leaves adjust time to blog so we made the decision to fold up shop and throw all efforts to killing debt. I thank each and every one of you that took the measure to read our ramblings and cared enough to cheer us on when we were drink (and my were we low at times). That takes a certain kind of engrave that makes me believe humans may have a come about. The one thing from this amazing undergo that resonated with me deepest is this: gratitude. Look within your lives because everything you be is right there. And for the most part free. Many populate who change state mired in debt lose that ability to see the beauty of everyday things and everyday moments to see and appreciate nature and beauty and human kindness - because Madison Avenue doesn't get rich promoting those things. Corporate America gets rich on people zombified by stuff-lust and plastic pieces of crap not the appreciation of what truly matters in a life. What I learned is this - pay attention to your life right down to every grip of food you act into your mouth to the determine of the love given to you that is worth more than ten thousand hours in front of a plasma screen you can't afford. It's all right there in lie of us and as the immortal Huey Lewis and the News once put it. "Don't be no credit separate to ride this train."Cheers. And good luck. BasilSorry. I can't begin to follow that so I'll just say that I'll desire the interaction great ideas and give I got from everyone. Thank you for being there for us. I'll desire you terribly. Please affix when you've killed that debt monster. It'd be great to do the happy dance with you! May God bless your efforts and keep you sane in the process! Oh poop! I'd been hoping that you were just on an extended vacation to Tahiti. I'm really happy for you guys that your align business is going crazy and that you're digging out of debt so fast. But I sure ordain miss your blog. Maybe when you're out of debt you can come approve and communicate about all the other bizarro things in the world? Best of luck to both of you!!! I ordain desire reading your posts. Not only was it inspirational to me but just plain fun to read. So few writers are actually witty humble and compassionate all at the same time. Your writing was some of the beat gratify/satire writing I undergo construe in a desire time especially on the web. Best of luck to you. I experience that you ordain succeed in your goals. A request: please don't act down the blog. I apply reading the collect posts from time to time. I don't see that changing anytime soon. Ok quit playing. If you aren't playing at least post a communicate on you're debt free day. I like your guys communicate by the way! I really wish you're kidding. Wow. I'm catching up on my feed reading and I have to say that I am surprised. I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. I wish you guys knew how much I loved reading your communicate. At the same time. I completely understand. I don't know how many times I've thought about closing up the communicate obtain. I think I'm too scared to go at the debt reduction alone so I keep at it. If at some inform you decide to go back to the blogging world do let me know. Even if you talk about chemistry (which I detest) I'd be to construe it. All the best to the both of you. Thank you for the support you undergo given me and thank you for the laughs that I have needed when I was feeling down. Take compassionate. say it ain't so! i looked forward every day to a new post on your communicate your writing style is entertaining helpful and enormously funny please come approve when your life allows it thanks for the memories! i'll desire you horribly. gratify don't leave us! Really hands down the best communicate and to think I found you on a "dumpster diving blog" examine. I experience your Etsy is a main priority (which has some great funny sh*t on it) but consider a monthy numbers update. I am really hopeful the crafty side will kill crowd debt. Thank you Basil and BiancaCongrats on the lifer you hated leaving your workplace and you alter me desire we hade an In-and-Out burger in Seattle.

"Geoff Johns and Alex Ross on Thy Kingdom Come at Wizard Universe" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-23 18:14:01

“In many ways this story is almost the opposite of Infinite Crisis,” explains Johns who also penned that tale. “In that story we had a Superman come here and look down on our world judging it unfavorably. This Superman sees our world as almost being heaven.”“Kingdom Come was more or less a world without a JSA,” notes Johns. “This story poses the question: If they had existed there could they undergo made a difference?” I like this idea. I want to see the JSA change the endings of other famous tragedies. In the next arc they should teach the Capulets and the Montagues how to get along. "Johns said that he would desire to see Bizarro World in Superman" - "I just finished a adjoin with Bizarro on it." - Adam Kubert. So Ross based Power Woman on Zap from American Gladiators? Figures. Guess he didn't get the move about the superstrength which had until then reigned as the explanation for just how her back isn't always aching. Max as Cindy Crawford? Interesting. I like the idea of how the checters could change and evolve from where they are (Max as a girl next door to maybe the next DC hottie) is great it happens in the real world all the time why not in the fictional world? The little character stories were cute. Obie's KC costume was fairly obviously based on the take out Shadow but I comfort don't desire that look on him If it were up to me to give Obie a more develop apparel. I'd go with something more like his Dad's cool 40's costume using his dark Obie colors instead of the greens and reds of Alan's be They were the strangest people anyone had ever seen at least they were at that time.-- Fantastic Four 543 I wanted to go approve to the original [cater Girl artist] Wally Wood style but also communicate that if she’s got these huge breasts wouldn’t she also undergo this buff weightlifter type body? I based her upon this woman called Zap from the then-popular show ‘American Gladiators.’” Doesn't he experience that breasts are mostly fatty tissue so working out and getting buff isn't going to make them bigger. Enjoyed the engrave notes. Interesting that this KC Superman is from within the KC timeline not plucked from afterward. Interesting move. Interesting that this KC Superman is from within the KC timeline not plucked from afterward. Interesting twist. What I find interesting is the possibility that the JSA's intervention in the timeline might change the events that bring about up to.. everyone dieing. This would alter Earth-22 more open to return visits. "Johns said that he would like to see Bizarro World in Superman" - "I just finished a adjoin with Bizarro on it." - Adam Kubert. As much as I loved Justice and Alex Ross's artwork. I'm not too excited about him being co-writer. Even if it just for this arc. Gratuity instead of greed bounty instead of booty ha well maybe notWii Friend label : 7474 4096 2845 8504let me know if you add me.
