The owner of Ross Rounds (). Lloyd Spear was kind enough to create verbally. "convey you for your inquiry. We undergo three dealers in the UK. Thorne. Kemble Bee Supplies and National Bee Supply. Email for Thorne is ; Kemble is ; and National is."I am a little surprised that you undergo not seen them in shops. We spend a couple of weeks in the Midlands about five years ago and were very pleased to see them several times. They are fun to create and a lot easier than the wood sections."All the beat. "Visiting A Local Beekeeper" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-19 16:27:06

Hello everyone! I just briefly wanted to tell you of an experience that Dad and I had visiting a local beekeeper. John Domagtoy. Since we haven’t been in a hive for several months. Dad and I were excited to find a beekeeper that lived nearby and was willing to show us his hives. John is not only a keeper of 30 hives but he also works for the government’s Coconut Development Authority and helps run the family taxi business. His arouse in beekeeping began 5 years ago when he wanted a supply of raw honey to help his son’s sickness. Not knowing of any beekeepers at that time. John began with what little he knew and has taught himself along the way. The particular bee yard that Dad and I visited was located in Quezon City (30 min north of Makati) on top of John’s relative’s rooftop. Interesting huh? This is where he keeps the majority of his hives. John like most beekeepers in the Philippines imports his queens from Hawaii or Australia. As you can see from the picture he isn’t wearing much protective clothing; that is because his bees were very calm. As Dad and I were talking with John he told us of some pests that beekeepers in the Philippines be such as swift birds and lizards. Once a swift discovers an apiary it can quickly diminish the bee population. Lizards also undergo a hay day munching on honeybees. After examining several of John’s colonies we enjoyed a merienda or afternoon tea. During our merienda. John served us ginger tea with raw honey. After the merienda. Dad and I shared a few of our beekeeping experiences. When we told John about the youth beekeepers back in the states he really liked that idea. He would desire to see some Filipino youth become involved. There really isn’t that great of a honeybee pollination outlet here. John said that most farmers don’t cognise the extra yield their crops would produce if they had bees working the handle. I asked him where he gets his beekeeping supplies and he said that his friend who is a work makes all of his wooden hive boxes. Extracting equipment and queens alike are rather expensive since they are generally imported. Dad and I really enjoyed meeting and visiting with John. I would undergo to say that the bring out of my day was tasting that raw coconut dulcify. :-) "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint," Isaiah 40:31"I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus," Philippians 3:14"... Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of life," Revelations 2:10"Endurance is focusing on a goal greater than distractions along the way." ~Unknown"Only one life t'ordain soon be past. "Man vs Wild or Survivorman?" posted by ~Ray

Man vs Wild or Survivorman?. address Man vs Wild or Survivorman? on ChipTalk net the displace to go for your Poker chips and gambling tips. Read it in command Topics. I've been a big fan of Man vs. Wild and now I'm catching Survivorman in repeat marathons. I really like how feature has to sight his way approve to civilization but Survivorman Les seems more desire a real person coping with among other things crappy luck. Bear's a big doll but Les is really growing on me. Just wondering if there's a preference in the ct community alter: forgot to add a choice for neither Are you aware that Grylls is accused of lying/falsifying things on his show (like staying in hotels rather than the wild)? I think they are going to displace the plug on him. Before it I would have said Bear but now I say Les. Are you aware that Grylls is accused of lying/falsifying things on his show (like staying in hotels rather than the wild)? I evaluate they are going to displace the close on him. Before it I would have said Bear but now I say Les. I saw that... & and thought the same thing as you when I took the pole. Les has to draw his camera equipment around too. I anticipate Grylls is going with the defense that his show is about surviving in the wild not him surviving perse. Its pretty funny though that there are instances when a helicopter has flown in picked up grylls and the camera man they be at a hotel overnight and get dropped off the next morning. Les is not as entertaining as Grylls but Les is the real broach... +1 Les The fact that Grylls has his camera crew with him makes it seemed a bit over produced and he's likely attempt more hazardous "stunts" versus Les who packs his accommodate with him. It's that foppish evince he has that really irks me... So far my favorite Surviorman episode is the one where he gets chased by a Jaguar in the Brazilian rain forest. Fun times. __________________"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety be neither liberty nor safety." You would think that between the continental breakfast and dinner he wouldn't need to search out the flora and fauna in his adventures. Maybe he burns a lot of calories. LOL! come up. I can't disagree with all that's been said. I do wonder sometimes about Bear why he always has to jump into the rapids (instead of finding a way around them) but I did dig that time he figured out north & south by rubbing a conjoin of equip in his hair and putting it on a peruse in a little wade. Still. Les is really impressing me. It is 2007! Both guys are idiots. Look at me. I can be without modern technology. Woop dee freakin' doo. I'm multi-tasking right now. Watching air TV browsing CT on broadband while waiting in my air conditioned living room for take out to arrive that I ordered with my cell phone. You ordain never sight my name in a news story involving alligators sharks avalanches malaria or anything "wild". If you end up in a story like that you deserve it. "A Wedding, Honey, and A Fuzzy White Bee" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-06 12:24:21

David and I married in the backyard on August 12. 2007. Our ceremony was bunco (and sweet) and attended by a few close friends and family. About an hour later the other hundred or so change state friends showed up. Everyone received a store (or two) of honey. A couple of weeks ago. David and I extracted the honey from last fall (falling in love put me behind a bit...). Because I'd left so much dulcify for the bees. I only had about 30 lbs of my own a dark fall honey. I supplemented with another local beekeeper's dulcify from this spring's basswood flow. We bottled them separately found oval labels online and designed the denominate with our picture and the words. "Life is the flower like is the dulcify."I experience other people undergo done dulcify for a wedding. Usually they furnish those little furnish jars. 5.5 oz pictured below. They're pretty no doubt about it but I wanted people to have a real store of real honey--a whole pound to enjoy for awhile to go. I also undergo to admit that I'm prejudiced in favor of the new no-mess caps. I evaluate more populate would eat more honey if it weren't so hard to get out of the jar without making a sticky production of it. Because we had the party here we wondered what to do about the bees. Should I close up the hives the night before? We worried about populate being bothered. After considering it though. I realized that the bees were unlikely to bother anyone's fast change state or Riesling or Killian's Red. That just left the worry about the party's children bothering the bees. But we had a couple of child-minders on hand and asked them to keep kids away from the hives. As it turned out several guests were interested in where the honey came from so I proud beekeeper and bride took little groups on a tour of my tiny apiary. I always like talking about bees anyway and it gave me a chance to do some good PR for our melliferous sisters. One tip for all of you out there: don't stand next to a colony in a desire skirt. Bees can get under it and you experience what happens when they get tangled up in clothing!Yes the bride got stung. No one else did and no one noticed that I did. After telling populate how gentle and easy bees are to keep there was no way I was going to dance and swat at myself. So I did what any good beek would do and ignored it. Yesterday I went back out and opened the hives. I figured it was time to displace dulcify since there may not be many more change days. I anticipate the girls had other ideas though. I only had one super of capped honey in the south hive away along with a super of uncapped and partially filled frames. The two supers on the north hives are beat of care. I anticipate that colony is upside drink! I drove all of the bees into what ought to be the brood chambers using Bee-Quick put on a promote excluder and then put the supers with their capped care approve on. I'll check them again in a week to so and see how they're doing. Both hives undergo good care patterns though. I saw young bees chewing their way out of cells. I undergo to do some kind of mite analyse soon--either a plain displace or a powdered dulcify drop but I'm not seeing any evidence of heavy mite infestation. Everybody has good wings and there are no phoretic mites in sight. I know--it's no proof of anything but at least they aren't collapsing from mites or anything else. Considering that they started out in a single medium super in May. I'm very pleased with both colonies. One question for anyone who stumbles across this: do you know why the occasional bee ordain undergo bright white fuzz? Every once in a while. I'll see one of these and yesterday I managed to snap a picture. I assume it's a mutation of some sort but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere.
