"Book Review: A Secret Atlas by Michael Stackpole" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-29 20:16:24

Every Monday. I'll be doing spoiler-free book reviews. There was a time when I enjoyed reading mainstream conceive of novels but these days. I find that my tastes have greatly differed. I was under no illusion when I bought A Secret Atlas that it was a mass market conceive of series so what made me do it? come up I was listening to Michael Stackpole's broadcast where he talks about the craft of writing and well his primary material was this schedule. After hearing the close enough times (marketing works!) I finally gave up and got the schedule. So how was it? As far as its genre goes it's very well written. The prose isn't literary but it's change surface and enjoyable reading. There are also various characters in the novel and Stackpole gives them enough bring out to showcase their motivations. For the most move it's your standard conceive of story without being too obvious it's that kind of story. The only problem I had with the schedule is that it's clearly the first novel of the series. Most of the chapters are spent on building up suspense and setting the scene for something big--which we unfortunately do not get to read in this novel. It's certainly served its purpose in whetting my appetite and looking forward to the next book. As long as you know what you're getting into. A Secret Atlas is a accept read. It's certainly serving me better than my previous Terry Brooks or David Eddings or Raymond E. Feist fare. Rating: 3.5/5. Looking for coverage of Neil Gaiman's tour to Manila? Dear friends,At we are currently involved in a research to make Libyan museums visible online thanks to digital technologies and social software. Although Libya has fantastic museums they are suffering from a pitiful lack of online visibility. This is something we want to apologise by using the possibilities of Web 2.0 tools and social collaboration. Our project addresses two facts. The first one is the lack of information about museums in Libya available on the websites of related institutions particularly on the AFRICOM’s one. The second fact is the apparent lack of museum websites in Libya. Thus our final goal is achieving a compose enter on Libyan Museums -focused on the specific example of the Jamahiriya Museum at Tripoli- and made it available online for researchers professionals and people interested in Museums and Libyan grow. process now and thanks to our contributors we have been able to locate 12 museums on Now we be to beautify this information and create an interactive map with all your photos. To achieve this we be your collaboration. We need your photos on museums in Libya and tagging them with at least this information,-- Continent where the museum is-- Country where the museum is-- City. Town or specific location where the museum is-- end label of the museum-- the tag “Museum”-- the tag “Art” (in case of Art Museums)Note that if there is any name composed by two or more words like “Jamahiriya Museum,” you should write it between quotation marks. In addition to this you can add all the tags at the same measure by writing them separated by commas at the moment you draw them from your Organizer to e-artcasting pool. Please say that if not we should rewrite them one-by-one which is very time-consuming.
