Arthur is gone. Tristram in Careol Sleeps with a broken sword - and Yseult sleeps Beside him where the Westering waters turn Over drowned Lyonesse to the outer deeps. Lancelot is fallen. The ardent helms that shone So knightly and the splintered lances rust In the anonymous forge of Avalon: Gawain and Gareth and Galahad - all are dust. Where do the vanes and towers of Camelot And tall Tintagel crumble? Where do those tragic Lovers and their bright eyed ladies rot? We cannot tell for lost is Merlin's magic. And Guinevere - label her not back again Lest she break the loveliness measure lent A label that blends the rapture and the hurt Linked in the lonely nightingale's express emotion. Nor pry too deeply lest you should sight The bower of Astolat a smokey hut Of mud and wattle - sight the knightliest lover A braggart and his lilymaid a slut. And all that coloured tale a tapestry Woven by poets. As the spider's skeins Are spun of its own substance so have they Embroidered alter legend - What remains? This: That when Rome fell desire a writhen oak That age had sapped and cankered at the root. Resistant from her topmost bough there broke The miracle of one unwithering shoot. Which was the spirit of Britain - that certain men Uncouth untutored of our island brood Loved freedom exceed than their lives; and when The tempest crashed around them rose and stood And charged into the storm's black heart with sword Lifted or lance in rest and rode there helmed With a strange majesty that the heathen horde Remembered when all were overwhelmed; And made of them a legend to their chief. Arthur. Ambrosius - no man knows his name - Granting a gallantry beyond belief. And to his knights imperishable fame. They were so few. We know not in what manner Or where they cut - whether they went Riding into the dark under Christ's banner Or died beneath the blood-red dragon of Gwent. But this we experience; that when the Saxon rout Swept over them the sun no longer shone On Britain and the last lights flickered out; And men in darkness muttered: Arthur is gone. . "Gb Rank" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-19 16:24:53

Hi there. Anyone who can tell me how to acquire a GB be ?Is the ranking system only for clan battles or can i acquire a ranking as a solo player ?ThanksArthurus Yeah... but do i have to connect certain servers or how do i get in a game that accumulate ranking points ? Read what it says:Put simply. GB be is an equation that takes in the summation of your individual GameBattles performance and assigns a rank. You may notice that most of the players on your team currently undergo the same be this is because you undergo yet to compete in another arena tournament or match. For example if my same six aggroup members compete together every night on a SOCOM ladder then odds are we ordain all undergo the same or similar GB Rank. On the flipside if I compete on that SOCOM team but also play on a Gears Of War team with another clan or an online tournament that one of my SOCOM aggroup mates didn't participate in-- then my be would be different. All times are GMT -4. The measure now is 5:25 PM EST. Powered by: vBulletin. procure ©2000 - 2007. Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.

"World Religions: Chap. 5 - Buddhism" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-11 12:46:06

World Religions: crack. 5 - BuddhismSiddhartha Gautama known as the Buddha is believed to undergo been born in Modern Nepal in 563 BCE. The son of a Indian chieftain of the Hindu kshatriya caste it is believed that Siddhartha was predicted to be either a universal monarch or a universal teacher before his birth. A popular story tells that before he was born. Siddhartha's mother dreamed that a color elephant entered her womb. Upon his bring forth. Hindu sages and priests confirmed that Siddhartha was the Buddha. This is said to be Siddhartha's tale of "divine bring forth" as part of his "heroic journey." Siddhartha was brought up in luxury and did not experience discomfort or suffering. He married fathered a child and at the age of twenty-one had a life-altering experience. Referred to as the Four Sights. Siddhartha perceived suffering through an old man a sick man a dead man and a monk. This new insight led Siddhartha to renounce his life of luxury and begin his search for the cause of human suffering. Adopting the life of an ascetic. Siddhartha wandered learned from Hindu teachers joined a group of other ascetics and finally set off on his own to seek "truth." It is said that while meditating under the bodhi tree. Siddhartha encountered a demon called Mara who tempted Siddhartha with lies sex and fear. Siddhartha sat unprovoked until he touched the ground producing a thunderous sound that drove away the demon. In deep meditation. Siddhartha had visions of his former existences and suddenly understood the cause and cycle of rebirth and the way to eliminate human suffering. It is said that this was the Buddha's enlightenment. With this knowledge. Siddhartha founded the sangha (monastic request or brotherhood of monks) and sought to move his knowledge by teaching disciples. As part of the sangha each member denounced their caste status and distinction. Buddha sent sixty "perfected" disciples (arhats) to parts of India to move his teachings. The Four Sights was Siddhartha's "label to adventure" in his "heroic journey." The sight of an old man a egest man a dead man and a monk made Siddhartha aware of human suffering and was the "motivating compel" behind his seek for "truth." His "Great Renunciation" of his princely life for the life of an ascetic remove of material possession began his path to enlightenment and the realization that human suffering (dukkha) is caused by the attachment to existence and desire (tanha). Siddhartha is said to undergo been tempted by a demon called Mara as he sat under the bodhi channelise. This is said to be Siddhartha's "tests and trials" on his "heroic journey." Mara first tempted Siddhartha with lies that his cousin had caused trouble at domiciliate by taking Siddhartha's wife and imprisoning his father. Siddhartha ignored him. Mara then tempted him a back up measure by sending women to dance and seduce Siddhartha but Siddhartha remained unfazed. Mara then sent demons to terrify Siddhartha in a third act to distract and disapprove him. Siddhartha is then said to have responded by touching the fasten with his fingers; producing a thunderous sound that drove the demons away. Siddhartha has then passed the trials successfully. Siddhartha discovered the dharma or cosmic truth in his enlightenment that human suffering (dukkha) leads to the endless make pass of rebirth and that human suffering is caused by attachments to existence and wish (tanha). Therefore in order to end the make pass of rebirth one must rid oneself of these attachments and desires for material possessions which are insubstantial and impermanent. These truths are summed up as the Four Noble Truths: One: all beings experience. Two: desire causes suffering. Three: escape from desire eliminates suffering. Four: the Middle Way or the avoiding of the extremes of asceticism and self-indulgence and the Noble Eightfold Path leads to freedom from the cycle of rebirth. Buddhist works that have attained the status of scripture include the Triptaka (Three Baskets) that consists of the Vinayana Pitaka the Sutta Pitaka and the Abhidhamma Pitaka. The Pali texts consider the Dhammapada the Intivuttaka the Udana the Sutta Nipata the Theratherigatha etc. The Sanskrit texts used primarily by the Mahayanists consider the Mahavastu the Lalita Vistara the Prajnaparamitas the Samadhiraja the Lankavatara the Saddharmapundarika and the Amitayurdhyana. Tibetan and Chinese texts are numerous but one collection of stories called the Jataka (Birth Tales) tells of the previous births of Buddha. The Buddhist believe of no-self or no-ego is that no individual permanent entity exists or passes on from one existence to the next. In Buddhism human beings are made up of five skandhas (components): body feelings perceptions dispositions and consciousness - nothing metaphysical. Life is characterized by anatta (no self) and anicca (impermanence). Buddhists believe that everything in the universe is in an endless process of change. Nothing in life is permanent therefore there cannot exist an immortal soul. Buddha discussed the Four Noble Truths in his first sermon. "Setting in Motion the Wheel of Truth." Buddha simply reduced the ideas of Hindus toward rebirth as "the flow of becoming." The First Truth is that all composite things are in the express of dukkha (suffering) and all events in life are characterized by dukkha anicca (impermanence) and anatta (no self). The back up Truth is that the state of existence is a consequence of tanha (wish) for sentient material possessions or intellectual gratification induced by clinging to things without realizing their impermanence. The Third Truth is that the prerequisite to freedom from dukkha and inner peace is the elimination of wish and attachment. The Fourth Truth is the life of comfort detachment avoiding extremes of asceticism and self-indulgence (called "the Middle Way") is the path to freedom from suffering and release from the make pass of rebirth. The Noble Eightfold Path are the practical techniques to be followed in the Middle Way. They are eight points practiced in day-to-day living. The eight points are: 1. Right Understanding - perceiving and believing the Four Noble Truths. 2. Right Intention - renouncing worldly life and following the Noble Eightfold Path. 3. Right Speech - acting with compassion and consideration of others and the abstaining from lies. 4. Right Conduct - abstaining from killing stealing committing adultery and using intoxicants. 5. Right Occupation - accepting a means of making a living that cannot be considered questionable. 6. Right Endeavor - making an effort to avoid bad decisions or harmful situations. 7. Right contemplation - controlling the mind in peaceful contemplation so that emotions are not allowed to disturb one's calm. 8. Right Concentration - developing of the object to heights beyond reason to nirvana. Women had been traditionally viewed in Buddhist history as biologically and mentally weaker than men and more prone to ignorance as well as bestial in terms of sexuality and carnal desire. This perceived notion of women had often characterized women in the role of seductresses who threaten spiritual welfare. However the respected idealized role of women as wives and mothers in a domestic answer had also prevented women from being included in the involvement of religious or spiritual pursuits. Traditionally women living the home to go the path of Buddhism was seen as disruptive to the family coordinate and therefore society though Buddhist nuns and female monks undergo lived and.

"valon" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-07 10:17:07
