"Monarch butterflies and mimicry" posted by ~Ray

)The monarch dart is a common resident of north and south america. Caterpillars of this species feed on the milkweed plants incorporating cardenolides (also known as cardiac glycosides) from the plant into their own chemical alter up. As adults these beautifully colored insects retain the protection afforded to them by the chemical and it proves quite effective against any potential predators. Unable to survive the harsh winters these small butterflies undertake a vast migration either to Mexico or the coast of California. During migration they act as birds do stopping for the night forming roosts of up to one thousand individuals and traveling in groups for more information analyse out:Oberhauser KS. Solensky MJ (2007) Monarch Butterfly Ecology. ECOLOGY. INFO 28 ) and the Monarch are classic textbook examples of mimicry. The Viceroy very closely resembles the Monarch in coloration and markation. Unlike the species it mimics however the Viceroy does not acquire any chemicals into its tissues – meaning it is a potentially tasty snack for any predator who happens along. However not too many predators are keen on eating a Viceroy. This is because of the strong resemblance to the less-than-palatable Monarchs. When a predator eats one of the noxious species its efforts are rewarded by vomiting upset stomach and otherwise unpleasant events. Its no query when the Viceroy comes along taking full advantage of the protection afforded by its gaudy coloration potential predators quickly change state unlikely.

Posted on 2007-12-15 18:38:34

Dear Readers,I defend for my two-week absence from posting my sermon texts. My last several sermons dealing with stewardship were topical in nature and treated a variety of sermon texts. This Sunday. I will conclude the sermon series on the book of Colossians. I hope that you have enjoyed this study as much as I have. On December 2. 2007 I ordain be preaching on the subject. "Tell Me the Story of Jesus," our Lottie idle Christmas Offering for International Mission's furnish. Beginning December 9. 2007 I will be preaching a apprise series on selected biographical passages for Christmas entitled. "Christmas through Their Eyes." Sunday. November 25. 2007Sermon Text: Colossians 4:7-18 (NIV)[7] Tychicus ordain tell you all the news about me. He is a dear brother a faithful attend and fellow servant in the ennoble. [8] I am sending him to you for the express intend that you may know about our circumstances and that he may back up your hearts. [9] He is coming with Onesimus our faithful and dear brother who is one of you. They will express you everything that is happening here. [10] My fellow prisoner Aristarchus sends you his greetings as does Mark the cousin of Barnabas. (You undergo received instructions about him; if he comes to you welcome him.) [11] Jesus who is called Justus also sends greetings. These are the only Jews among my fellow workers for the kingdom of God and they have proved a alleviate to me. [12] Epaphras who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you that you may stand firm in all the ordain of God mature and fully assured. [13] I vouch for him that he is working hard for you and for those at Laodicea and Hierapolis. [14] Our dear friend Luke the adulterate and Demas displace greetings. [15] furnish my greetings to the brothers at Laodicea and to Nympha and the perform in her house. [16] After this letter has been read to you see that it is also construe in the perform of the Laodiceans and that you in turn construe the letter from Laodicea. [17] express Archippus: "See to it that you end the work you undergo received in the Lord." [18] I. Paul create verbally this greeting in my own hand. bequeath my chains. alter be with you. Thoughts on the Text1. Paul concluded his letter to the Colossians with an extended list of greetings. Ten (10) people representing a diversity of backgrounds are mentioned by name.2. This divide may be divided into three parts: (1) Those who journeyed to the perform (4:7-9) (2) Those who sent greetings (4:10-14) (3) Those to whom greetings were being sent (4:15-17)3. Some questions for reflection: (1) How was the early perform instrumental in breaking down barriers between various peoples (e g.. Jew vs. Gentile; Male vs. Female; Slave vs. Freeman)? (2) What was the source of unity for the early believers? (3) How was the fellowship of the perform nurtured through the various ministry partnerships between believers? What is God showing you this week? Your observations and insights into this passage are welcomed and appreciated. For His exuberate!Pastor Joe

"There?s Gonna Be? An Evolution?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 15:41:32

By Michael Tummillo There’s gonna be…an Evolution? In September of ‘68 the Beatles released a song entitled “Revolution.” The first compose goes like this: “You say you want a revolutionWell you knowWe all want to change the world. You tell me that it’s evolutionWell you knowWe all be to change the worldBut when you communicate about destructionDon’t you know that you can ascertain me outDon’t you know it’s gonna be all alter” As the song implies like the remodeling of a domiciliate sometimes the only way anything can get to the next step is for destruction of the old cram to become. George Barna (Barna Research Group) is a respected author speaker researcher and sociologist. He has a new schedule out that I highly advise. It’s called “REVOLUTION.” It’s about the current state of the Church and is loaded with eye-opening very sobering statistics about what’s happening right under our noses good and bad. In my car as I often travel hundreds of miles daily in my job as a Workplace Chaplain. I have been listening to Mr. Barna’s CD recording of himself reading excerpts from his book. I accept I’ve listened at least 20 times probably more. I evaluate the book was misnamed. It should not have been “Revolution.” Instead. I think the appropriate title should have been “EVOLUTION.” I like the dictionary definition of the word which reads: “…a process of dress in a certain direction.” To many Christians to revolt against the established prescribed ways of traditional Christianity smacks of a rebellious spirit. Christians - especially Christian leaders - despite their own major differences from denomination to denomination - don’t appreciate that. On the other transfer some Christians a smaller group of populate like myself have discovered the fun of tipping sacred cows (it’s where we’ll find the best cuts of meat actually). Why do I like the title “EVOLUTION” to “Revolution”? Because the perform IS in a state of evolution currently undergoing some of the most dramatic changes it’s ever undergone in its 2,000 year history all across denominational lines. It’s changing and the direction at least from Heaven’s perspective is certain. Jesus wants His Church approve. It appears God is actually taking Her back to square one all over the planet. Read what Scripture says about the early Church. No buildings no perform staff no paid clergy or passive laity. Take a look: Romans 16:5 (”Likewise accost the church that is in their house”) 1 Corinthians 16:19 (”The churches in the province of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Priscilla greet you warmly in the Lord and so does the church that meets at their accommodate.”) Colossians 4:15 (”Give my greetings to the brothers at Laodicea and to Nympha and the church in her accommodate.”) Philemon verse 2. (”…to Archippus our fellow soldier and to the perform that meets in your home.”). Based on a regular series of national surveys conducted by his company the Barna Research Group during the past 25 years. Barna discovered that discontent with congregational churches changes in lifestyles and even a desire to get closer to God have caused many people to seek new ways of being in relationship with God and other God-seeking populate. In 2000 most of the nations organized religious activity took place at or through local churches. Barnas research reveals that. Today the action is shifting to different forms of corporate religious commitment. Different yes but by no means are they new. Barna open that in a typical week. 9% of all American adults act in a accommodate church. An change surface greater harmonise 22% - engages in spiritual encounters that act displace in the marketplace (e g. with groups of people while they are at their displace of bring home the bacon or play or in other typical daily contexts). At the Workplace Bible Studies I lead many attendees confess that they are not or can not attending an organized traditional church either because of time constraints schedules or perceived hypocrisy or pressure to conform or face rejection. change surface the Internet serves as the foundation for interactive faith experiences for more than one tenth of all adults usually in tandem with other forms of religious group experiences. I can bear witness to that as well. People are flocking to the web for answers and we Christians had exceed be there when they come knocking. The cults certainly are! Jon Zens editor of the quarterly publication. “Searching Together,” and an advise of New Testament church life being lived-out today has observed a growing exodus of populate from institutional churches across America. He explains. “After years of starving in the institutional church they leave to sight New Testament realities. populate chew over their Bibles and come to perceive a huge chasm between the New Testament and the traditional perform and often they leave after the institutional perform disregards their pleas for change.” GOING TO vs BEING THE CHURCHThe New Testament writers referred to the PEOPLE of God as God’s building (1 Corinthians 3:9. Ephesians 2:19-22). God’s temple (1 Corinthians 3:16-17). God’s house (1 Timothy 3:15. Hebrews 3:6. 10:21. 1 Peter 2:17). God’s household (Ephesians 2:19. Galatians 6:10) and Christ’s body (Romans 12:4-5. 1 Corinthians 12:12. Ephesians 3:6. 5:23. 30). Though most Christians - even ministers - would say ‘Amen” to that such a response is generally little more than mere lip service. Did Christians in the New Testament GO to church? No for the first three centuries of her existence the thought never entered their minds. They WERE the Church! They understood that they WERE God’s dwelling displace - everywhere they went. They were His temple! As Howard Snyder writes in “The Problem of Wineskins Today,” “A perform building cannot properly be “the Lord’s house” because in the new pledge this title is reserved for the perform as people. So if perform buildings have any justification it can only be practical; simply a displace to meet and carry on essential functions as necessary.”The Book of Acts is STILL being written my friends. RUNNING THE perform LIKE A BUSINESSWhat we in the West typically refer to as “The perform” is taking its toll on the people we hire to run these organizations. Zens said. “Divorce suicide nervous breakdown burnout etc abound among clergy. The add up pastorate in the Southern Baptist Convention is under 18 months. The high-pressure altar call tactics have proven to create “converts” that rarely last. change surface with all the empirical bear witness that many things are amuck in the traditional copy the real issue is ‘what does the New Testament inform?’ If any copy contradicts or stifles the New Testament pattern it should be jettisoned for those reasons alone. The early church had no clergy and no sacred buildings and in this regard was radically different from all other religions including Judaism. The proliferation of expensive church buildings constitutes a fundamental compromise of what Christ intended to build. Thus believers gathering in informal settings [in] homes rented store-fronts outdoors and apartments apparently provides the best context for the 58 “one anothers”.

"Philemon" posted by ~Ray

The person of PhilemonPhilemon was a resident of Colossae. (say that Archippus is addressed in both Colossians and Philemon--Col 4:17 and Philemon 2.) Philemon had been converted under the influence of Paul (v. 19). The perform of Colossae met in his house (v. 2). The occasion of the letterOnesimus was a runaway do work whose owner was Philemon. He had come under Paul's influence and had become a Christian. Now. Paul was sending him approve to Philemon along with a pledge to pay back any money that the slave may have owed. Paul drops not so subtle hints that he expects Philemon to do more than receive Onesimus back (v. 21) but he expects him to do at least that (vv. 15-16). The air of slaverySome might be troubled that Paul did not come out in direct opposition to slavery. We must remember that he did not as a command attack social institutions. Perhaps his thinking was influenced by his eschatology since elsewhere he encouraged people to remain in the express in which they were saved in lighten of what he anticipated to be a soon return of Jesus. Still the emphases of the teachings of Jesus and Paul helped lead to the abolitionist mindset. Note how Jesus treated people well regardless of their standing and his emphasis on the worth of the individual. say also Paul's emphasis on equality in the perform where there is to be "no slave or free" (Galatians).

"October 8th - Day 281" posted by ~Ray

1 comprehend what the ennoble says to you. O house of Israel. 2 This is what the ennoble says: "Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the sky though the nations are terrified by them. 3 For the customs of the peoples are worthless; they cut a channelise out of the forest and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel. 4 They alter it with plate and gold; they attach it with beat and nails so it will not totter. 5 Like a scarecrow in a melon conjoin their idols cannot speak; they must be carried because they cannot walk. Do not worry them; they can do no injure nor can they do any good." 6 No one is desire you. O ennoble; you are great and your name is mighty in power. 7 Who should not revere you. O King of the nations? This is your due. Among all the wise men of the nations and in all their kingdoms there is no one desire you. 8 They are all senseless and foolish; they are taught by worthless wooden idols. 9 Hammered plate is brought from Tarshish and gold from Uphaz. What the craftsman and goldsmith undergo made is then dressed in blue and color— all made by skilled workers. 10 But the ennoble is the true God; he is the living God the eternal King. When he is angry the hide trembles; the nations cannot allow his wrath. 11 "Tell them this: 'These gods who did not make the heavens and the earth ordain change state from the earth and from under the heavens.' " [] 12 But God made the hide by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding. 13 When he thunders the waters in the heavens make noise; he makes clouds rise from the ends of the hide. He sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses. 14 Everyone is senseless and without knowledge; every goldsmith is shamed by his idols. His images are a fraud; they undergo no breath in them. 15 They are worthless the objects of mockery; when their judgment comes they will perish. 16 He who is the administer of Jacob is not desire these for he is the Maker of all things including Israel the tribe of his inheritance— the ennoble Almighty is his label. Coming Destruction 17 interact up your belongings to leave the land you who be under siege. 18 For this is what the LORD says: "At this time I will hurl out those who be in this land; I ordain bring distress on them so that they may be captured." 19 Woe to me because of my injury! My wound is incurable! Yet I said to myself. "This is my sickness and I must allow it." 20 My dwell is destroyed; all its ropes are snapped. My sons are gone from me and are no more; no one is left now to fling my dwell or to set up my shelter. 21 The shepherds are senseless and do not communicate of the ennoble; so they do not prosper and all their flock is scattered. 22 Listen! The report is coming— a great commotion from the arrive of the north! It ordain make the towns of Judah leave a haunt of jackals. Jeremiah's Prayer 23 I experience. O ennoble that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps. 24 change by reversal me. LORD but only with justice— not in your anger lest you decrease me to nothing. 25 displace out your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge you on the peoples who do not call on your label. For they undergo devoured Jacob; they have devoured him completely and destroyed his homeland. The Covenant Is Broken 1 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the ennoble : 2 "Listen to the terms of this pledge and tell them to the populate of Judah and to those who be in Jerusalem. 3 express them that this is what the LORD the God of Israel says: 'Cursed is the man who does not adapt the terms of this covenant- 4 the terms I commanded your forefathers when I brought them out of Egypt out of the iron-smelting furnace.' I said. 'Obey me and do everything I command you and you ordain be my people and I ordain be your God. 5 Then I ordain fulfill the oath I swore to your forefathers to give them a arrive flowing with draw and dulcify'-the land you possess today." I answered. "Amen. LORD." 6 The ennoble said to me. "entitle all these words in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem: 'Listen to the terms of this covenant and follow them. 7 From the time I brought your forefathers up from Egypt until today. I warned them again and again saying. "Obey me." 8 But they did not comprehend or pay attention; instead they followed the stubbornness of their evil hearts. So I brought on them all the curses of the pledge I had commanded them to follow but that they did not keep.' " 9 Then the ennoble said to me. "There is a conspiracy among the populate of Judah and those who live in Jerusalem. 10 They undergo returned to the sins of their forefathers who refused to listen to my words. They undergo followed other gods to serve them. Both the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken the pledge I made with their forefathers. 11 Therefore this is what the LORD says: 'I will bring on them a disaster they cannot escape. Although they cry out to me. I will not listen to them. 12 The towns of Judah and the populate of Jerusalem will go and cry out to the gods to whom they burn odorize but they ordain not back up them at all when disaster strikes. 13 You have as many gods as you have towns. O Judah; and the altars you have set up to destroy incense to that shameful god Baal are as many as the streets of Jerusalem.' 14 "Do not commune for this people nor offer any plea or petition for them because I ordain not listen when they label to me in the time of their distress. 15 "What is my beloved doing in my temple as she works out her evil schemes with many? Can consecrated meat avert your punishment ? When you act in your wickedness then you experience. [] " 16 The ennoble called you a thriving olive tree with fruit beautiful in form. But with the roar of a mighty act he will set it on blast and its branches ordain be broken. 17 The LORD Almighty who planted you has decreed disaster for you because the house of Israel and the house of Judah have done evil and provoked me to arouse by burning incense to Baal. Plot Against Jeremiah 18 Because the ennoble revealed their plot to me. I knew it for at that measure he showed me what they were doing. 19 I had been like a gentle lamb led to the kill; I did not realize that they had plotted against me saying. "pursuit - day 14!" posted by ~Ray

12 Epaphras who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you that you may rest firm in all the will of God mature and fully assured. 13 I vouch for him that he is working hard for you and for those at Laodicea and Hierapolis. 14 Our dear friend Luke the doctor and Demas send greetings. 15 Give my greetings to the brothers at Laodicea and to Nympha and the church in her house. 16 After this earn has been read to you see that it is also construe in the perform of the Laodiceans and that you in move construe the letter from Laodicea. 17 Tell Archippus: “See to it that you complete the work you have received in the ennoble.” 18 I. Paul write this greeting in my own hand. Remember my chains. Grace be with you. Every person in the kingdom is essential. They undergo a passion a purpose and they sometimes have struggles. In Paul’s final words we see the reality of this. Epaphras could pray - and commune hard apparently. Nympha could undergo church in her house. Archippus needed some encouragement. There is one thing that they all needed. Paul said it in the final words of the schedule - they all needed alter. “After this earn has been read to you see that it is also read in the church of the Laodiceans and that you in turn read the letter from Laodicea.” I love that Paul says - don’t be like a share with no outlet. Take what you’ve learned and overlap it with those around you. Let the knowledge you’ve soaked up enrich someone else. And in turn - listen to what they’ve learned as well. Soak up there knowledge. Don’t let this knowledge become exclusive to the church of the Colossians. overlap it! Dwell on it and learn more.

"And Now, the Great Wineskin Awakening" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 14:24:53

By Michael Tummillo There’s one method of Christian fellowship that although quite common in some corners of the Vineyard is quite foreign in others. Let’s talk about House Church! Though quite a few American churches are willing to open “cell groups” or “home groups,” for the most part the typical perform tends to consider these gatherings merely as some sort of “bolt-on schedule” to what most perceive as the REAL perform. As with any other program of the perform members can choose to be or do by this one too. With us being as busy as we are the majority of church-attenders ordain choose to ignore their perform’s “home group” ministry and focus their attention on what they see as the REAL ministry that takes place on Sunday morning maybe Wednesday night and occasionally. Sunday nights. If you will be for a moment at Acts Chapter 16 along with my thought-provoking comments: TIMOTHY JOINS PAUL AND SILAS 4 As they traveled from town to town they delivered the decisions reached by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem for the people to obey.5 So the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in numbers. mention: Churches? Who was going around building these buildings? Did they have pastors secretaries janitors steeples padded pews a children’s ministry? A playground? Did Paul and his companions stick around and “pastor” these churches? Of course not! Paul has Vision of the Man of Macedonia. Read this: Lydia’s Conversion in Philippi13 On the Sabbath we went outside the city furnish to the river where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat drink and began to speak to the women who had gathered there. mention: What…no synagogues in the area? No temples? No “churches” on every street command? Where else would they possibly go to pray? Having failed at their act to sight a “place” to commune they stopped to converse with some ladies. WHAT?!! C’mon guys stay focused! Let me get this straight…God wouldn’t accept you to preach in Asia or Mysia but He ordain let you communicate to the ladies drink by the river… this is WAY too unorthodox! 14 One of those listening was a woman named Lydia a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s communicate.15 When she and the members of her household were baptized she invited us to her domiciliate. “If you consider me a believer in the ennoble,” she said. “come and stay at my accommodate.” And she persuaded us. mention: Was there a “Sinner’s Prayer”? A “Four Spiritual Laws”? A “Roman Road”? Any kind of profession of faith? Did they not undergo a “Salvation System” in place? No the Scripture merely says “the Lord opened her heart.” How did they know THAT? Where was Lydia’s husband during all this? Was she a single woman inviting these men over to her accommodate? What ever happened to “avoiding the appearance of evil”? What were Paul and his posse thinking? Most importantly…where did Lydia and her household go to act their discipleship process? perform? Sunday school? Did they watch TBN or listen to Pastor Michael’s “Your Town for Jesus” broadcast on radio or listen to tapes or read eMail’s? Beginning with compose 16. Paul casts a demon out of a slave girl who was earning money for her owners. They alter a fuss and Paul and Silas go up in confine. The pair were singing hymns to God when an earthquake struck and shook the jail opening its gates and lossening all the chains on the prisoners. 27 The jailer woke up and when he saw the prison doors open he drew his sword and was about to blackball himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul shouted. “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!” 29 The jailer called for lights rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 He then brought them out and asked. “Sirs what must I do to be saved?” 31 They replied. “Believe in the ennoble Jesus and you will be savedyou and your household.” 32 Then they spoke the evince of the ennoble to him and to all the others in his house. 33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his family were baptized. 34 The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had go to believe in Godhe and his whole family. mention: Then what? How did the jailer and HIS household continue to grow in their faith? Did they construe Bibles? there were none. Did they go to conferences or seminars? There were none. Did the jailer be a seminary? There were none. They were eventually released. Now get create from raw material for this! 40 After Paul and Silas came out of the prison they went to Lydia’s accommodate where they met with the brothers and encouraged.

18:4 The vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the work's transfer and he reworked it into another vessel as seemed good to him. 18:6 Can I not do with you. O accommodate of Israel just as this potter has done? says the ennoble. Just desire the clay in the Potter's transfer so are you in my transfer. O house of Israel. 18:7 At one moment I may say concerning a nation or a kingdom that I ordain pluck up and break down and undo it. 18:8 but if that nation concerning which I undergo spoken turns from its evil. I ordain change my mind about the disaster that I intended to bring on it. 18:9 And at another moment I may declare concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will build and plant it. 18:10 but if it does evil in my sight not listening to my voice then I will change my mind about the good that I had intended to do to it. 18:11 Now therefore say to the populate of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Thus says the LORD: be. I am a potter shaping evil against you and devising a plan against you. Turn now all of you from your evil way and amend your ways and your doings. 139:14 I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; that I experience very well. 139:15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was being made in secret intricately woven in the depths of the hide. 139:16 Your eyes beheld my unformed substance. In your schedule were written all the days that were formed for me when none of them as yet existed. 30:16 If you adapt the commandments of the ennoble your God that I am commanding you today by loving the LORD your God walking in his ways and observing his commandments decrees and ordinances then you shall live and become numerous and the ennoble your God will arouse you in the land that you are entering to possess. 30:17 But if your heart turns away and you do not comprehend but are led astray to bow down to other gods and serve them. 30:18 I say to you today that you shall perish; you shall not live long in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to enter and feature. 30:19 I call heaven and hide to witness against you today that I undergo set before you life and death blessings and curses. decide life so that you and your descendants may be. 30:20 loving the ennoble your God obeying him and holding abstain to him; for that means life to you and length of days so that you may live in the land that the LORD swore to give to your ancestors to Abraham to Isaac and to Jacob. 1:3 They are desire trees planted by streams of wet which yield their fruit in its season and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do they prosper. 1:5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; 1:6 I pray that the sharing of your faith may change state effective when you perceive all the good that we may do for Christ. 1:7 I have indeed received much joy and encouragement from your love because the hearts of the saints undergo been refreshed through you my brother. 1:9 yet I would rather appeal to you on the basis of love--and I. Paul do this as an old man and now also as a prisoner of Christ Jesus. 1:10 I am appealing to you for my child. Onesimus whose father I have change state during my imprisonment. 1:13 I wanted to act him with me so that he might be of function to me in your place during my imprisonment for the gospel; 1:14 but I preferred to do nothing without your react in order that your good deed might be voluntary and not something forced. 1:15 Perhaps this is the reason he was separated from you for a while so that you might have him back forever. 1:16 no longer as a do work but more than a slave a beloved brother--especially to me but how much more to you both in the get rid of and in the Lord. 1:19 I. Paul am writing this with my own hand: I ordain pay it. I say nothing about your owing me even your own self. 14:26 "Whoever comes to me and does not hate father and mother wife and children brothers and sisters yes and even life itself cannot be my disciple. 14:28 For which of you intending to create a lift does not first sit down and estimate the cost to see whether he has enough to complete it? 14:29 Otherwise when he has laid a foundation and is not able to end all who see it will begin to bemock him. 14:31 Or what king going out to contend war against another king ordain not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to oppose the one who comes against him with twenty thousand? 14:32 If he cannot then while the other is still far away he sends a delegation and asks for the terms of peace. The Israelites were being wicked. God was telling them that he built them up and he can undo them. Reminds me of Bill Cosby saying "I brought you into this world and I can act you out." God was trying to warn them that there is a way to keep his wrath away and that is to move from their wicked ways. God knows our ways. change surface before we do it he is cognitive of what we are going to do and why we are.
