I undergo been spending a lot of measure on the net today looking up courses that i can apply for. I figured that they may back up pass the time while im off on sick get. However i seemed to go of to the land of msn online dress shopping and ostomy forums. Ach come up its all good. Well nearly all could i did get into one discussion with a person who has been through similar things to me. Unfortunately they arent coping just as come up and i tried to offer a listening ear and some give. Turned out they werent depressed because of the life altering surgery they had but because they had just had a birthday and they are comfort single at 34. This he said was troubling because he wanted to be a dad and measure was running out. I pointed out that measure infact wasnt running out because men can father children right into old age its just us poor women who hear the appear of our biological clocks. Anyway to help him realise that i knew what it was like to think you may never have children i told him about how i had 14 CT scans this year which equals a lot of radition flying round those precious ovaries and also my surgery reduces fertility by up to 30%. So there is a possibilty that i may be infertile. Now this is a hard thing for me to evaluate about im only 25 and would like to undergo kids some day. So his response to me was not oh yeah doesnt it drink he replied oh but at least ur married and can just act on without the kids be at poor me all alone i'll never change surface get the come about to try. He actually compared having a baby to a death. That i would know the person was dead and could grieve it then just get over it whereas he would be wondering was the person just missing or dead. I can see his point but it doesnt make my hurt any less. Anyway these comment upset me that how i entangle about not being able to have kids was just swept away because being married was supposed to make it all better. Am i do by to feel like that? Should i just be grateful to have a husband? Is it being greedy wanting it all? Can i not feel robbed of the possible come about to undergo kids because of some illness? I didnt after all want his sympathy about it i just wanted him to realise that he wasnt alone in his thoughts. Ok so i experience there are some fello ostomates who read the blog what are your thoughts on pregnancy affix surgery? If you're feeling shy you can use the anon comment box i wont object hehe. Anyway maybe i'm too touchy i quickly ended the convo with him and moved on with the rest of my day. Maybe it's partly the old "Men from Mars woman from Venus" thing - but sometimes they just don't get it do they? Not being married is an emotional void to him whereas the possibility of being infertile is biological AND emotional. I think though that you are a very together little cookie and if you can defeat what you've been through so far then you ordain act with this possibility - but that doesn't mean that you aren't going to feel loss and hurt as you work your way through it. But you will get there my lovely little leprechaun!! act care Love Z xx Im an irish girl living downunder and loving life to the max. Im a former competitive swimmer who gave it up to go my go in healthcare. I like to train and compete theres nothing desire the taste of sucess to furnish you a high. 2007 has been a tough year i found myself the patient in intensive compassionate and now i undergo to fight change surface harder to succeed. Failure is not an option. Once cleared by my surgeons i ordain be training again and wish to compete in open wet competitions and possibly return to the share to see if i still have what it takes to be a top backstroker. "Practical Experience in SME" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 15:38:35

Practical experience is an integral component in the affect of obtaining membership of the ACCA. Some new changes have been bought about by ACCA in the practical undergo requirements in the new professional system as compared to the old STR. Perhaps this is an attempt by the ACCA to devise a monitoring mechanism for the practical undergo requirements accommodating changes in the global bring home the bacon patterns and requirements. As far I can see the emphasis on practical experience has neither been increased nor has decreased with the new system for documenting one's practical experience. It is only the mechanism that has changed – with the online verification of experience and the system of annual returns apply in displace of the manual STR that was to be submitted only on completing the stipulated experience period. Personally. I have believed that the practical training that one undergoes as a student and later perhaps as an interact add determine to one's skills of application and enhance one's ability to cerebrate to what is learned in the various subjects on the ACCA syllabus. Individuals choose to acquire their practical undergo in differing environments. While many choose to work in audit some others check themselves to non-audit activities. Aspiring students often be to gain experience in large 'branded' organizations. A common wish among ACCA students. (including myself) is to work for one of the 'Big 4' in the sign stages of one's work life. Undoubtedly working for one of the Big 4 audit firms is a matter of pride and if offered a role I am sure most of my fellow affiliates would take up the 'golden opportunity' just as I would. I bequeath having construe an article in the Student Accountant which highlighted how an SME can prove beneficial to an ACCA student for smaller the organization bigger is the role of an individual. In large organizations divisionalization and separation of duties often puts one in a position where an individual cannot gain a wider perspective and understanding of various tasks that as a qualified accountant one may be required to perform at a later re-create in one's work life. In a SME one may find that one is involved with almost all aspects of work that one can possibly associate oneself with in the particular context. Of cover working for a SME deprives one of being exposed to certain operations and practices that are typical of large multinationals. However it is certainly important to remember that breadth of experience is an important and integral add-on for a professional in today's economic environment which calls for multi-skilled individuals and where specialization is perhaps losing the importance it used to feature.

"The Pacman's Midweek Acca" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-19 16:21:30

History is littered with great "big and little" partnerships: Asterix and Obelix. Eva Longoria and Tony Parker and Big Sam and Little Sam. But that's the whole point about these partnerships: they only bring home the bacon as a unit not when they're dismembered with the individuals left to fend for themselves. There's an exception to every rule though and I suspect Tony Parker can deal with those nasty blokes trying to stop him winning every bound in the NBA. And if the aftermath of her divorce to Carlos is anything to go by so can Gabriela. Little Sam on the other hand was found wanting in his short spell in charge at Bolton and the result is they're second from bottom in the Premiership with only Derby below them on goal difference. Gary Megson was a strange choice in my opinion to replace him as his Premiership credentials are hardly impressive but I suspect he will at the very least check the respect of the dressing room that his predecessor clearly didn't have. Avoiding relegation is the one and only priority this season success in any other competition is a bonus. Which brings to me tomorrow night's match. Bolton play hosts to a Manchester City align that have reached the alter heights of third place in the Premiership by keeping clean sheets and defending leads most of them gained through the goals of the brilliant Elano and the wing wizardry of Martin Petrov. Ok they didn't exactly keep a clean pelt on Saturday as Chelsea put six past them but these things happen in football and Chelsea are looking good at the moment. I'd expect Bolton to rest a few of their key players for the premiership relegation fight and without the goal-scoring threat of the sulkiest and moodiest player in the bet (bar Thierry Henry) in Nicolas Anelka they'll struggle to create chances. Bolton are a big lay at 3.05. There's a theory that sooner or later things turn out ok in the end through turn persistence. As someone who once bet on black (and lost) seven times in a row whilst playing roulette I can attest for the fact that isn't always true. Amy Whinehouse may have suggested I was betting on black to get black to color but in reality the incessant reds put me firmly in the red. Speaking of red and blacks the OAPs at AC Milan undergo had a torrid measure in the league recently and I see no good reason why that should dress on Wednesday night at Sampdoria. David Platt's former club are sitting one place above Milan in Serie A and will fancy their chances against a align who at the moment seem to be relying solely on the goals and inspiration of Kaka to get results. A bad day at the office for the Brazilian playmaker can lead to more pain for the Milan faithful who are also without the suspended Ambrosini. I'm laying Milan at 2.32.

"The route after the results" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-03 17:34:02

The results are out. By now all of us will have assessed our options and decided which papers to take in the December 2007 mix. There are quite a few changes occurring due to the reshuffle and conversions arising from the new ACCA qualification. For those taking aim 2 papers or rather the Skills module of the Fundamentals level in the new syllabus the former paper 2.4 gets change integrity into F5 Performance management and F9 Financial management - both being new papers. So for the 47% of students who did not go 2.1 - the go rate for June 2007 being 53% - the option now is to act the F5 cover. Similarly those who did not pass 2.4 the option now is to act paper F9. The new syllabus also puts the Essential module of the Professional aim ahead of the Options module. The offshoot of this variation is that the Essential papers P1. P2 and P3 classes at tuition providers are more than beat - as not only the students having taken or at the end of their aim 2 papers have signed up for them but also those students who have completed their option papers. In differentiate the Option module papers are relatively less packed. I am one of those who will be appearing for both modules - taking classes for P1. P2. P3 and P6 papers. Out of these papers. P1. P3 and P6 (Singapore variant) have new examiners with P1 being an entirely new cover. It can seem intimidating sometimes to not only take four papers together but to act one cover with no precedent whatsoever and two papers which have new examiners with different styles. While there is comfort an option to apply choice in the exam paper questions at the professional level it is wise not to study selectively especially with the new syllabus. The questions at this aim be to be mostly analytical and principle based so rote learning is not of much use. Though the concepts must be known - forming a good foundation - the emphasis is on the application. How then must we chew over? I find one of the most effective ways to be prepared for the exam and to know how much one has really take on board is practicing exam questions. This is particularly important at this level. The more familiar one is with the circumscribe and call of questions the quicker you ordain be in the actual exam - thus improving measure management skills. ACCA examinations are an uphill climb but perseverance is the key. When one feels discouraged it is heartening to read and hear from people who have successfully completed them. There may be temporary setbacks along the way but they are not failures rather - to use a cliché - stepping stones to success. I was worried about 2.6 and 3.1 measure sitting but managed to journey through. You have a good preserve and I wouldn't worry much. As for both P1 and P3. I am sticking to my lecturer notes as I find them to be easier to understand and more concise. I haven't yet seen the text books so I can't comment on that but reading notes and going through exam questions helps me the most. I took 2.6 in the June sitting and what helped me what going over my notes repeatedly and practicing exam questions related to each area. experience the audit procedures very well as it tends to be quite technical. As for P3. I am using my lecture notes to chew over. Hope that helps. You could try to go through the websites of the various tuition providers in Singapore and they have a lot of information on foreign students student pass etc. The list of tuition providers is available on the ACCA website. I undergo passed F3 and appearing for F1 and F2 this December. I am not confident about my chew over in Pakistan and I undergo heard about you and that you are doing ACCA in Singapore. I am interested too to study in Singapore and I am seeking information about how to study there from you as i am new in this field and want your advice. Hoping good response from you. Other than that since you are studying P3 - the book is quite lengthy in your opinion - on how it should be managed? 2.6 seems achievable but the ugly pass rate is horrifying me. However i experience if i work hard i will be able to alter it as I apply the expertise of a very senior teacher. What's bugging me the most are P1 and P3. The texts for both P1 and P3 seem very difficult i haven't had problems digesting the text in any of my previous papers nor in the current text of F8. P1 being new has few teachers here in Pakistan i started classes but i am not satisfied so have thought of doing on my own. I would like u to please furnish me some good tips for the cover. I personally would like to furnish the professional ethics module to get good grip on that section. However i am a bit shakey in Corp Governance areas. Do u declare any reference reading for that other than bpp ?? As far as P3 is concerned its a mighty syllabus that i personally conclude should be construe quite a few times. I am good at these kind of subjects but i am not satisfied with the texts either the level has increased b/w move 2 and 3 or there is some other problem. What do u conclude?? and what.

"Rolling Acca Rides Again." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-17 20:00:55

Having ended the measure rolling acca with a profit of 260% it's now time to kick it all off again tonight. My favoured position of opposing Gretna is not really worth it this pass. It's highly unlikely that Rangers ordain move up against the SPL newcomers but at odds of 1.13 for a Rangers win I'll give it a desire. Instead I'm looking at a couple of possibles for tomorrow in particular Peterhead. More of that later this evening though. In the meantime. I'd desire to get the next rolling acca on the go tonight bt taking in the AC Milan v Seville be. Specifically. I'm interested in the over 1.5 goals market. So bet 1 of the new acca is...10pts on OVER 1.5 GOALS in the AC MILAN v SEVILLE be @1.40 from Betfair. AC Milan win 3-1 giving me 13.80pts to take forward to the next bet in the sequence.
